William "Bill" Howard Gonder, 87, of North Huntingdon, passed away peacefully at The Palms at O'Neil Personal Care Home on Thursday May 22, 2025. He was born June 18, 1937 in Chalfont Borough and was the son of the late Maron Gonder and Sylvia Lewis. He attended Turtle Creek High School and the University of Pittsburgh for a year. He was an Engineering Draftsman at Fahringer, McCarty and Gray for 21 years until his retirement in 2003.
He was also a proud US Army Veteran who served our country and was stationed in Korea for a year during his service time.
William was also involved in the East Suburban Friendship Club, Norwin Area Meals on Wheels and he enjoyed playing the lottery, golfing, lifting weights, dining out and happy hours with his favorite drink, martinis, in his younger years. He enjoyed dancing with his beloved best friend, Carol Boros of 23 years. Their friendship blossomed into travel time together and many memories with Carol and her children, Sean Boros of North Versailles Township and Alicia Boros (James LaFosse) of El Paso, TX. He was very dedicated to feeding and caring for feral cats and was involved in TNR with the assistance of Donna Petrill of Community Angel Network throughout the years. He enjoyed watching war movies, western movies, Name that Tune, Golf and Football. Also napping in his favorite recliner with his rescued Tuxedo cat, Sylvester Kitty in his cat bed beside him.

Melva Dandrea, age 95 of McKeesport, passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, May 22, 2025. Born November 16, 1929, in McKeesport, she was a daughter of the late George and Anna (Vojnovich) Evkovich. A devout and active member of St. Sava's Serbian Orthodox Church in McKeesport, Melva worked at both Gimbel's and Kaufmann's Department Stores. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Gene J. Dandrea, and her daughter, Sharon Young. Kevin J. Hopkins, 67 of Glassport, died suddenly on May 21, 2025. He is the husband of the late Cheryl (Marcus) Hopkins. He is the son of the late John "Jack" and Corrine (Tomedolsky) Hopkins. He is survived by his sons Jonathan (Akiko Aoki) Hopkins, Jeffrey Hopkins, Jarred Hopkins; daughter Kimberly Hopkins and brother Martin Hopkins. Kevin retired from US Steel as a Crane Operator at Irvin Works, owned Hopkins Excavating & Concrete, and handled facilities maintenance at St. Joachim & Anne Parish where he was also a member. He attended the Croatian club for weekly Bingo, his day ran on Dunkin and daily car washes. He was a jack-of-all-trades, always willing to lend a hand to anyone in need and couldn't sit still for a moment. Friends will be received at the Wojciechowski Funeral Home, Glassport on Sun. She loved cooking and watching the Food Network, gardening, and spending time with her grandchildren. Born June 5, 1959, in McKeesport, she was a daughter of the late John “Jack” and Dorothy (Feidler) Potts. Jack R. McCombs, age 96, of Monongahela, passed away Wednesday, May 21, 2025, at South Hills Post Acute in Bethel Park. An army veteran of World War II, he retired as a brakeman for McKeesport Connecting Railroad and attended the former Elizabeth Wesleyan Church. Born October 31, 1928, in Dravosburg, he was a son of the late Frank and Mae (Carter) McCombs and husband of the late Carolyn M. (Booth) McCombs. He is survived by his daughter, Janae (James) Potter of Hamlet, IN; three grandchildren; great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; also, nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Linda Sue Dell, and siblings, Lloyd, Roy, Ralph, Vance, Ethel, Grace, Margaret and Lila.
