Eleanor “Pennie” Delight Bloschichak McGhen, 80, of McKeesport, formerly of Glassport, and Jamestown, Rhode Island, passed away on Sunday, October 27th, 2024 at her home. She was born in Newport, Rhode Island on June 24, 1944 to the late Andrew and Eleanor Delight Armstrong Bloschichak. Eleanor was the loving wife of 34 years to the late Patrick McGhen. She is survived by her children Patty (Gary) Meadville of Dravosburg, Lewis (Diane) Presley, Jr. of Greensburg, Dorie (Tony) Morrison of McKeesport, Michele Meadville of Ashland, OH, and Jacqueline Meadville of White Oak, grandchildren Nathaniel Meadville, Malorie Meadville, Dustin Presley, Dearl Presley, De'Leisha Patterson, Anthony Morrison, Jr., Elijah Morrison, Jordan Morrison, Taylor Watkins, Morgan Watkins, Jahquan Watkins, Jayla Watkins, Landre Watkins, 14  great-grandchildren, sister Peggy (Bill) Rezner of Orange Park, FL, brothers Thomas (Carol) Bloschichak of Rhode Island and Michael (Sherry Brintton) Bloschichak of Rhode Island. Eleanor was preceded in death by child Kimberly Presley, and brother Slugger. She was a former member of the the Lions Club in Glassport. Daniel J. Evans (Pap Dan), 74, of North Huntingdon, died Saturday, October

26, 2024, at UPMC Shadyside Hospital, Pittsburgh. Born on June 30, 1950, in

Braddock, Pennsylvania, he was the son of John and Helen (Mihalov) Evans.

Dan was a faithful member of SS Peter & Paul Byzantine Catholic Church,

Duquesne, where he followed in the footsteps of his father and served as a

Cantor his entire adult life. He graduated with a bachelor’s from Duquesne

University where he met his wife, Susanne (Gillam) and quickly started his

family. He then worked his entire career for U.S. Steel Corporation, over 35

yrs, starting in the mills and working his way to Director of IT and

Infrastructure. In retirement he enjoyed golfing with friends, his support

groups, serving his church, time with family, and watching the Pirates,

Steelers, and Penguins. Pap Dan will be remembered among other things as

a lover of buying Christmas presents, thrilled with finding a bargain, as a

loyal friend, a dedicated father and grandfather, a committed volunteer and

respecter of a good prank. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death

by his long-time partner Elaine M. Baker. He is survived by his three children,

Jennifer M. Magee (Shawn), Gregory D. Evans (Sarah), and Nicholas J. Evans;

his beloved grandchildren Emma-Kate Magee, Anna Magee, and Theodore

Evans; his two sisters, Pamela A. Donkin (Wayne) and Patricia M. Weidman

(Dennis), plus nieces and nephews and great niece and nephew.

Family and friends will be received from 3 to 7 PM on Friday, November 1,

2024, in the William S. Skovranko Memorial Home, Inc. Richford and

Commonwealth Avenue, Duquesne. A blessing in the Memorial Home on

Saturday, November 2, 2024, at 9:15 will be followed by Liturgy of Christian

Burial at 10:00 in SS Peter & Paul Church. The family suggests Memorial

Helen E. (Estock) Hampson, age 95, of Elizabeth, passed away on Friday, October 25, 2024 at home. She was a member of St. Joachim and Anne Parish, St. Michael Church in Elizabeth Twp. She loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, loved to go antiquing with her best friend, Carol Nemchick, and enjoyed game shows and could have been a contestant on Jeopardy. Born August 22, 1929 in Clairton, she was a daughter of the late Michael and Mary (Pesta) Estock and wife of 68 years of the late Robert Hampson. She is survived by her children, Mary Lee (Ray) Alger of Dunedin, FL, Debra (William) Van Ronzelen of Union, MO, Susan (Scott) Wagner of Pleasant Hills and Nancy Hawkins Hampson of Elizabeth; grandchildren, Megan Supernovich, Bob (Brandi) Supernovich, Lauren (Brian) Parente, William Van Ronzelen IV, Rachel Van Ronzelen, Neil (Megan) Wagner, Alyssa (Eric) Schleifer, Kristen Hawkins and Michelle (Agustin Carmona) Hawkins; great-grandchildren, Landon and Nolan Supernovich, Joseph, Michael and Richard Parente, Lucas Ladderer, Liam Van Ronzelen, Cole Wagner and Emma Scheifler; also, nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by siblings, Margaret Gaza Tomasello, John, Michael, Mary and Joseph Estock, and Anna Charney. No visitation is planned. Mabel Dorothy Bauer, 102, of Elizabeth Township, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, October 26, 2024. She was born August 13, 1922 in Elizabeth and was the daughter of the late William Otis and Catherine (Schweichert) Cramer. She was the wife of the late Jerome V. Bauer who passed away December 21, 2003. Mabel was a member of Mary, Mother of God Parish; St. Angela Church, White Oak, and was a member of the Christian Mothers there. She was also a member of an area Quilting Club. She retired from Equibank in Pittsburgh in 1986 after 11 years of service and had previously worked in the accounting department of US Steel from 1940-1950.

Thomas (Tom) Francis Lydon, aged 82, passed away peacefully on October 26, 2024. He was a beloved father, husband, and grandfather who will be deeply missed by all who knew him. Tom was born on October 11, 1942 in Braddock, PA, the son of Dudley Lydon and Helen Conroy. He grew up in the Point Breeze section of Pittsburgh. He was drafted in 1964 by the US Army and served during the Vietnam War. He was honorably discharged in 1966. He started his career with US Steel Homestead Works in 1966 until the mills closed in the 1980’s. He worked for the VA Hospital and later worked at the US Postal Service until his retirement in 2006. Tom didn’t have a lot of hobbies, but he enjoyed watching Nascar races, Fox News, and spending time with his dog, Skyler. Tom is survived by his loving wife, Claudia, his children, John (Maryann) and Jeff (Heather), and was extremely proud of his grandson Connor. He is also survived by his brothers, James (Judy) Lydon and John (Pam) Lydon and several nieces and nephews. His memory will be cherished by all who knew him. There will be no funeral service and a private cremation. A celebration of life with family and friends will occur at a later date. Elizabeth V. Staso, 91 of North Huntingdon, passed away on October 25, 2024. Born on October 2, 1933, Elizabeth devoted her life to her family and community, leaving behind a legacy of love and kindness. Before marrying her late husband, Albert, Elizabeth happily worked at Westinghouse. Post-marriage, she embraced the roles of full-time mother, grandmother, great grandmother and matriarch, enriching her family with unconditional love and care. She created a warm and inviting home. Her commitment to her family was evident in every aspect of her life, and she was revered as the cornerstone that kept her family closely knit. She was the heart of the family, survived by her children Keith, Gary, and Maryann; daughters-in-law Wendy and Joanne and son in-law Seth; grandchildren Jonathan, Amanda, Olivia (Stephen), Ryan, Christina (Jordon), Justin (Keaira), Aleksi, Carly and Gabrielle; and great grandson Bennett, and Randy's fiancé Rita. Elizabeth was preceded in death by her husband Albert, son Randy, and daughter in-law Charlene. Elizabeth’s active involvement with Elizabeth Ann Seton Church provided a source of great joy and fulfillment in her life. Her faith was unwavering and was evident in how she interacted with all people. She developed many friends throughout her life, and enjoyed bowling, bingo and most recently playing cards with her good friends Flo and Barb who provided great joy with a companionship filled with compassion and laughs. In lieu of flower, contributions in memory of Elizabeth can be made to Elizabeth Ann Seton Church. Her life was a testament to unconditional love and the impact one person can have on many others. She was beautiful inside and out. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Friends will be received at the JAMES W. Agnes Julia (Pieklo) Pacacha McClain, age 102, formerly of West Mifflin and North Versailles, passed away on Thursday, October 24, 2024, in Kane Community Center, Scott Twp. Born in Pittsburgh on September 27, 1922, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Julia (Reimond) Pieklo. She was a member of Most Precious Blood of Jesus Parish, loved polka dancing and playing the organ and wrote numerous letters to the editors of local newspapers.

She was the wife of the late Steve J. Pacacha and the late Frank R. McClain. She is the mother of Rich (Donna) Pacacha of Ohio, Ron (Kathleen) Pacacha of Florida, Bill (Lynn) Pacacha of PA, Bob (Susan) Pacacha of PA, Maria (Raymond) Aul, of PA, Ginny Blazer of PA, Joe (Dolores) Pacacha of PA and Greg (Sissy) Pacacha of NY. She was the last surviving member of her brothers and sisters. She is also survived by 26 grandchildren, 34 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild.

Lavon Halpern, 95, of White Oak, passed away Wednesday, October 23, 2024. Lavon was born December 6, 1928 in Elizabeth and was the daughter of the late Lawrence Kassler and the late Anna (Stulpin) Graham.  She was the wife of 64 years to the late Robert D. Halpern, who passed away January 31, 2013.  Lavon and her high school sweetheart, Bob, organized annual reunions well into their 80’s. She was a dedicated member of Mary, Mother of God Parish- St. Angela Merici Church, since the early days at Rainbow Gardens.  Lavon was involved with Bingo, the fish fry, the parish festival and many other groups into her 90s. To celebrate her many volunteer activities, Lavon was awarded The Manifesting the Kingdom Award at St. Paul’s Cathedral in 2015. She will be greatly missed.

Robert Beavers, age 61 of North Huntingdon, passed away on October 23, 2024. He was born on March 24, 1963 in Braddock, a son of the late Robert and Shirley Cardiff Beavers. He was a graduate of Coulter Road Baptist School in McKeesport. Prior to his retirement, Bob was employed as an Assembler at Crisp Control Inc, and also as a mechanic. He was an avid Steelers fan and enjoyed watching Nascar races. Bob loved animals, especially his pets. In addition to his parents, Robert was preceded in death by his infant daughter Sarah and his niece Tami Kunst. He is survived by his loving wife, Melissa, one son, Robert Jr., one daughter, Jessica Beavers, one brother, Jeff Beavers, one sister, Sheri Kunst, and one granddaughter Selena Twele, niece Jodi and nephew D. J. Friends will be received at the James W. Shirley Funeral Home, 176 Clay Pike, North Huntingdon on Sunday from 2 PM to 7 PM. David Ulakovic, 78, of North Versailles passed away on Wednesday, Oct. 23, at UPMC East hospital, with family by his bedside. Dave was born on July 21, 1946, the only child of Anna (Smith) and Joseph Ulakovic. After graduating from Westinghouse Memorial High School in 1964, he went on to become a master machinist and skilled tool and die maker.

A lifelong sportsman, he could often be found on the golf course, in a hunting blind, or chatting with his buddies at the McKeesport Sportsmen’s Association gun club & Hartford Heights Fireman’s club. Dave was a storyteller extraordinaire and truly loved his dogs - he was never far from Teagan, his beloved English springer spaniel.

He is survived by wife Suzanne, son Joseph (Kristen), daughter Carrie (Don Lee), daughter Dana (Ben Goldberg-Morse), and grandchildren Travis, Hunter, Calder, and Grier. He was preceded in death by his brother, Robert (Bob) Giles. Seeing all three of his children become parents was one of Dave’s greatest and proudest joys in life.

A service in his honor will be held at James W. Shirley Funeral Home, 176 Clay Pike, North Huntington, on Friday from 5 PM to 8 PM. A Catholic Mass will take place at St. Robert’s Bellarmine Church in East McKeesport on Saturday at 10 AM. PLEASE GO DIRECTLY TO THE CHURCH.
