Dennis Frey, age 67, of N. Versailles, died June 11, 2016. He was born in Brooklyn, New York on Aug. 29, 1948 and is the son of the late Fritz and Charlotte Lips Frey.  He was a Veteran of the Army serving in Vietnam. He was a retired firefighter with over 50 years of service. He was a past chief for #3 Fire Company, West Mifflin, station #295. He was a volunteer for White Oak and West Mifflin EMS, was employed by McKeesport Private Ambulance Company and was a charter member of the Red Knights. He is survived by his wife Carol Moffett Frey, children Dawn (Michael) Shelly of McKeesport, Kimberly (Brian) Priest of Palmyra, PA, William (Tiffany) Davis, Jr. of N. Huntingdon and Joshua Davis of N. Versailles. He is also survived by 14 grandchildren and all of the sons and daughters of the fire companies.
Friends will be received at Strifflers of White Oak Cremation and Mortuary Services, 100 Lincoln Way, White Oak, 15131 (Sue Striffler Galaski, supervisors, 412 678 6177) on Tuesday from 6-8 pm and Wed. from 2-4 and 6-8 pm. Aaron Anthony “Swift Eagle” Hale, age 50, of Elizabeth died June 11, 2016. He was born on Aug. 15, 1956 and is the son of Lydia Moore Hale of New Town, N. Dakota and the late Edward O. Hale. He was a cook for Mike’s Pizza in Elizabeth and a concrete worker for Wilhelm’s in Elizabeth. Along with his mother he is survived by his wife, Diane Domer Hale, children Julian Anthony (Debbie) Hale and Shalya Rae Hale all of Pgh., sisters Kim (the late Frank) Pulli of Palm Harbor of Florida, Leslie (Michael) Hammerberg of Stanley, N.D., JODY (Robert) Brieck of New Town, N.D., Faith (Ken) Wright of Amherstburg, Ontario, Brothers; Alma “Bo” (Carol) Hale of Dravosburg and Edward (Virginia) Hale of Elizabeth. He is also survived by grandchildren, nieces, nephews, great nieces, nephews and aunts and uncles. In addition to his father he was preceded in death by his brothers; Frederick and Keith and step father Timothy Hale.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Monday, June 13, 2016, at 6:00 p.m. at Strifflers of Dravosburg/West Mifflin, 740 Pgh.-McKeesport Blvd., Dravosburg, 15034 (412 678 6192). His nephew, Pastor Phillip Fox, will officiate. Immediately following the Celebration of Life will be a gathering of friends and family from 7:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. on Monday. Bert retired from National Tube, where he worked as a machinist. He was a former member of First Free Evangelical Church. He enjoyed the outdoors, fishing, watching Pittsburgh Penguin games and was an avid Dallas Cowboy football fan.

He was a bus driver for Greyhound Lines, Inc. for 30 years.  He was a member of the 6th Ward Club in Pittsburgh.  He really enjoyed spending time with family and friends. He enjoyed watching all the Pittsburgh Sports Teams and he loved to spend summers on Canadohta Lake with his family and friends.

Mary Ann Bench, age 75, of Port Vue, died June 2, 2016, at UPMC McKeesport Hospital. Born June 2, 1941, in Wilkinsburg, she was the daughter of the late Dominic and Vella (Riffel) Perino and the wife of the late Joseph Bench.

Mary worked as a licensed cosmetologist in her early years and later as a nurses aide, until retirement. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in McKeesport. She was the past president of the Red Hat Ladies Society at Riverside Nursing Home. She enjoyed trips to the beach, crafts, bingo, and she especially enjoyed bowling with the other residents of Riverside Nursing Home.
