He was an Army veteran and went on to have a long career as a masonry contractor and land developer. Duane H. Carter, Sr., 76, of McKeesport died on Thursday December 8, 2016 at home. Born April 26, 1940 in White Oak he was the son of the late George Edmund and Elizabeth (Hudak) Carter. He was the husband of the living Rosalie (Canova) Carter. He was a graduate of Wilmerding High School and served in the US Navy. He worked at four steel mills including National Tube, Firth Sterling, Copper Mill, and the East Pittsburgh Westinghouse plant. He then later retired from McKeesport Messenger Service after 20 years.
