Charles "Chuck" Michael Dougherty, 72, of Adamsburg, formerly of McKeesport, died Tuesday, November 22, 2016 at home. He was born July 4, 1944 in Greensburg and was the son of the late Charles Henry and Lillian Mench Dougherty. Chuck was retired from the US Postal Service and was a US Army Veteran of the Vietnam War. He received the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, Army Commendation Medal, the Vietnam Service Medal and the Good Conduct Medal. He is survived by his sister, Toni Carnahan of New Market, MD, nephew, Scott J. (Lisa) Carnahan and a niece, Lisa J. (Ken Kumar) Carnahan.

Robert Thornton Swauger, Sr. age 94, of McKeesport, died Nov. 29, 2016, at his home. Born Oct. 15, 1922, in McKeesport, he was the son of the late Marshall and Sadie Mae (Thornton) Swauger and the husband of the late Vera May (Wilson) Swauger.
Robert was a W.W. II veteran and fought in the Battle of Anzio. He was awarded the Purple Heart. After his service, Robert returned home and went to work for the McKeesport Water Authority. Upon retirement, he took up a new job description, that of family guardian, and he took it quite seriously.

Derek enjoyed hunting and fishing. More than anything else, he loved spending time with his family. Derek was a humble person who cared deeply about helping others. He often spoke at NA meetings in an effort to save people from the pain he knew too well from his own life experiences.
