Richard W. Kohl, age 69, of Glassport, formerly of Port Vue, died April 25, 2016, at UPMC McKeesport. Born April 10, 1947, in McKeesport, he was the son of the late Roy Hamilton and Anna (Barowich) Kohl and the husband of Judy (King) Kohl, for 47 loving years.

Marie B. (Bobuk) Benny, age 92, of Youngwood, formerly of North Versailles, passed away Monday, April 25, 2016. She was born March 24, 1924 in Duquesne, a daughter of the late John and Anna (Teslovich) Bobuk and was also preceded in death by her step mother, Elizabeth (Buckiso) Bobuk who raised her. She was a former member of St. Nicholas Orthodox Church, Duquesne. She worked as a clerk at U.S. Steel, Duquesne Works, before working as a clerk at Gimbels Department Store, Eastland Mall.

Roy E. Miller, age 88, of White Oak died April 27, 2016 in UPMC Mckeesport Hospital. He was born April 29, 1927 in McKeesport, a son of the late Roy and Frances Ihly Miller. Roy was a member of St. Agnes Church, North Huntingdon. He was a graduate of Waynesburg University and was formerly employed by General Motors as an Accountant. He enjoyed woodworking, refinishing furniture, yard work, gardening and spending time with his family. Roy was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Paul Miller. He is survived by his beloved wife, Betty Ann Harvey Miller , four sons, John (Donna), Douglas (Patricia), Mark (Jamie) and James Miller, one sister Catherine 'Kay" and her husband David. 6 grandchildren, Tyler, Bella, Gavin, Mackenzie, Katie and Lexie. One great grandchild Dehlilah. Friends will be received at the James W. Ella Marie Wilson, 58, passed away peacefully at Forbes Hospital in Monroeville on April 28, 2016.    She was born July 1, 1957 in McKeesport, daughter of the late John F. and Ethel Kristufek Wilson.  In addition to her parents, Ella was preceded in death by her beloved brother James Wilson and niece Lydia Wilson.  She is survived by brother John Jr. (Beverly) with whom she resided, brother Robert of White Oak, and sister-in-law Audra, nephews Grant and Alec, and niece Lily Wilson, all of Bethel Park.    Ella was employed at Vocational Business Alliance McKeesport prior to her retirement in 2012.  She was a longtime fan of the Steelers and pro wrestling.  She greatly enjoyed bowling and dancing with her friends at MYARC.  Special thanks to her devoted caregiver Tamika Olverson, and to our extended family and friends.  The family also thanks the staff at Forbes Hospital for their caring and compassion.

Mike Kurka, age 91, of McKeesport, died April 22, 2016, at John J. Kane Regional Medical Center. Born November 8, 1924, in McKeesport, he was the son of the late Peter and Mary (Warga) Kurka.
Mike was a US Army veteran serving during WWII. He was a gentle man always caring for the children in his life and his loving family. He also enjoyed a good cigar.
Mike is survived by a sister, Anna Bills of McKeesport; also many nieces and nephews.
In addition to Mike’s parents, he was preceded in death by siblings, Peter and Mary.

David John Lorince, age 62, of E. Providence, Rhode Island, died unexpectedly Sunday, April 3, 2016 at home. David was born May 10, 1953 in McKeesport, PA and grew up in Port Vue. He is the son of Helen (Katrenic) Lorince of Elizabeth Twp. and the late John C. Lorince. 

He is survived by his son, David Joseph Lorince and granddaughter, Ella of Riverside, Rhode Island; brother, Raymond (Barbara) of Elizabeth; and sister Carol Boros of N. Versailles; also aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.  David was predeceased by his rescue cat, Tulee.

Joanne Alice Slachta, 77, of Port Vue, died Monday, April 25, 2016 at her daughter Michelle's home in Glassport surrounded by her loving family. She was born April 12, 1939 in McKeesport and was the daughter of the late Frank and Alice Kovach Behary. She was the beloved wife of the late Albert Slachta who died June 13, 2008. They were married for 47 years. Joanne had worked for Wilcher News and the former Feig's Bakery in McKeesport. She loved cooking, gardening and her cherished cat, Kitty.

Richard A. “Rico” Simica, age 47, of McKeesport, died April 18, 2016, at his home. Born December 25, 1968, he was the son of the late Richard G. and Albena A. (Ornowski) Simica.
Rico was the owner of Mama Pepino’s Pizza in Elizabeth. He enjoyed restoring automobiles and could often be found reading or watching the History channel. Always willing to help anyone, Rico was a wonderful brother, uncle, great uncle and friend.
