Theresa M. Heckenstaller, 86, of East McKeesport died Thursday, July 30, 2020. She was the loving wife of the late Donald G. Heckenstaller. Beloved mother of Virginia (David) Rowe, Donald A. Heckenstaller, David (Kathleen) Heckenstaller, and Craig (Jim Durhan) Heckenstaller. Dear grandmother of Nathan (Casey) Rowe and Emily Rowe.  Sister of Louise Cunliffe, Natalie Roush, and Elaine Rifenberg. 

Theresa was an accomplished artist and published poet, she had a great love of knitting, baking (her famous pepperoni bread) and was an avid sender of greeting cards. She was a diehard fanatic of the local sports teams.

Shannon C. (Jesko) Lebrato was born on January 10, 1965 in Pittsburgh, PA.  

Shannon went to be with her Savior peacefully on July 17. Preceded in death by her parents Larry and Fay Jesko (Hazlett) She is survived by her loving husband and best friend Kevin Lebrato also her beautiful daughters Amanda and Katrina. Three siblings Sharon (Jesko) and Michael Puskar, Larry and Michelle (Gardner), and Matthew Jesko.  Shannon worked in food service at Broad Street Bistro and enjoyed serving others.  She was fond of cats and over the years has rescued and cared for many.

LaNora Louise (Rouse) Price

LaNora Louise (Rouse) Price passed away peacefully on February 1, 2020, at her home in North Versailles after a long illness. Born July 19, 1933, in Pittsburgh to John and Margaret Rouse, LaNora grew up on the Northside, graduating from Allegheny High School in 1951. In September of that year, she married Donald Price, a marriage that lasted until his death in 2008.

LaNora worked as an operator for Bell Telephone and as a meat cutter for Kroger’s in Duquesne but retired in 1972 to be a stay-at-home mother to her daughter Dawn.

After Donald’s retirement, he and LaNora traveled extensively, visiting England, Scotland, Wales, and Italy, and finally taking their dream vacation to Egypt.

He served his country in the U.S. Navy and was an avid hunter that enjoyed the outdoors with family and friends by his side.

Michael especially enjoyed driving for Black Eagle Company and S & S Transportation. He was born on October 29, 1942 in Braddock and was the son of the late William and Emily Scharritter.  In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his sister, Helen. John was a lifelong member of Immanuel Lutheran Church. He was a veteran of the United States Army, and prior to his retirement, was a systems administrator for Rexam, Inc. John enjoyed going to the Steeler games for many years, bowling with the American Legion League, golfing, fishing and especially attending his grandchildren’s sporting events. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Sherry, daughter Kelly, sons Erik and his wife Terra; Chris and his wife Loree; his grandchildren, Coree, Colin, Navy, Jacob, Sky and Chance; his brother William, nieces and nephews.

Sarah J. “Sally” Tronsberg, 67, of East McKeesport died September 23, 2019.  Sarah age 67 of East McKeesport passed away.  Sarah graduated from Scott High School Class of 1971. She was the beloved daughter of the late John F. & Ruth N. (Higgs) Tronsberg.

There was no visitation. A private burial service was held at Monongahela Cemetery, North Braddock, PA. Arrangements were in charge of James F. Kutch Funeral Homes & Crematory, East McKeesport.

 


Ronald R. “Tugboat” Bodnar Sr.

Ronald R. “Tugboat” Bodnar, Sr. aged 67, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Wednesday, September 11, 2019.  Ron was born in McKeesport, PA on July 7th, 1952 to the late Robert and Frances Bodnar.  

He was affectionately known by friends and family as “Tugboat”, a nickname he earned from his 35-year career as a tugboat captain at U.S. Steel. 

His favorite place to spend time was his “retirement home”, a camper and community near Pymatuming Lake, where he loved boating, fishing and spending his days with friends and family. 

Ron had a larger than life personality and he lit up the room with his raucous laughter. He was a devoted husband, father, “Pap”, and friend. 

He is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Deborah (Seng) Bodnar, son Ron Jr. (Kristy) Bodnar, son Brad (Noel) Bodnar, 3 adoring grandchildren, Carson, Mason and Olivia who lovingly knew him as “Pap”, and sister Debra (James) Reynolds.
