Edward L. "Ed" Popp, 78, of Duquesne, passed away peacefully, Saturday, November 28, 2020 surrounded by his family. He was born on February 12, 1942 in Lincoln Place and grew up in Duquesne. He was the son of the late John A. "Jonica" Popp, Jr, and the late Emily F. (Tytke) Popp. He was a member of Christ Lutheran Church in Duquesne, Allegheny County FOP Lodge 91, F & AM Aliquippa Lodge 0375, the PIN club, and Dravosburg American Legion. Ed retired from the City of Duquesne Police Department where he served as a Policeman and Detective. Additionally, he worked for the Kennywood Park Police Department and was a retired military veteran where he served a combined 25 years in the U.S. Navy active duty and the Pennsylvania Air National Guard,171st Air Refueling Wing.

He had a passion for westerns, classic country music, and old time television, especially Perry Mason and Gunsmoke. Alfred was a handy person who was always available, and happy, to help. Rev. Edward S. Litavec, age 86, of Pittsburgh, died November 20, 2020, at Mt. Assisi Place. Born July 24, 1934, in Roscoe, PA, he was the son of the late Joseph Sr. and Mary (Bury) Litavec. Fr. Litavec was a graduate of St. Vincent College and St. Vincent Seminary. He was ordained a priest for the Pittsburgh Diocese on March 25, 1960.
Pastor to many, he was truly the shepherd of the flock. The “Mon Valley” will remember the messages of his homilies and his powerful voice singing praises to the Lord.

C., she was the daughter of the late Ceaphus C. and Jessie Gallant Porter of Columbia, S.C. She was a graduate of Dentsville High School and President of the class of 1944.
She was the beloved wife of 70 years to the late George Yanichko, she is survived by two daughters, Kathy (Late Steve) Piskorik of Cape Coral, FL., and Donna (Bill) Hrabchak of Brandon, FL., a son, David (Kris) Yanichko of West Mifflin, six grand children, five great grand children, two great great grand children, and nieces and nephews. Besides her parents and husband she was preceded in death by a grandson, Steve Piskorik, two sisters, Jessie Wessinger of Columbia, S.C., Jean Nichols of Philadelphia and four brothers, Nesbit G., Ceaphus C.
