James E. "Jim" McDermitt, 74, of Duquesne, died peacefully on Monday, October 4, 2021, in UPMC McKeesport. Born in Duquesne, January 21, 1947, he was the son of the late William Earl and Agnes (Kamacher) McDermitt. Mr. McDermitt was a self employed handi-man. Beloved husband of the late Mary Elizabeth (Yarnall) McDermitt, he is survived by a son, Stephen McDermitt, two daughters, Dana (Bill) Ferrier and Erin Jenkins, three grandchildren, Scott Jenkins Jr., Hannah Jenkins and A.J. Ferrier, and a sister, Nancy Kuchma. In addition to his parents and beloved wife, he was also preceded in death by two sisters, Joyce Bedzik and Diane Yurchinson and a grandson, Luke Jenkins.

Robert James Angel, 83, of Duquesne, entered into eternal life peacefully on Saturday, August 14, 2021, in Baldwin Health Center. Born in Pittsburgh on November 3, 1937, he was one of twelve children born to the late Nicholas John and Theresa M. (Koehler) Angel. Mr. Angel is survived by a brother and sister-in-law Regis Michael and Maureen Angel and two sisters, Catherine "Dolly" (Late John) O'Keefe and Martha "Martie" Angel, and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by five brothers, Charles Francis Angel, Richard John Angel, George Angel, Thomas Angel, and William Angel, and three sisters, Rose White, Theresa "Tessy" Angel, and Margaret Menary.

Family and friends will be received in the William S. Skovranko Memorial Home, Inc., 828 Richford Street, Duquesne, PA. 15110, on Wednesday, August 18, 2021, from 10 A.M. until a Blessing service at 12 Noon with Rev. Daniel Sweeney officiating. Born in McKeesport on December 29, 1950, he was the son of the late Zoltan and Pauline (Fenyus) Perhacs. Mr. Perhacs was a sub contractor in the construction and masonry trades. Beloved husband of Jeanine (Bovee) Perhacs, he is also survived by two sisters-in-law and a brother-in-law, Carole (late Robert) Collins and Patricia and Martin Bovee, four nephews and a niece; two great nephews and three great nieces, and several cousins.

Patricia A. (Rohaly) Ivan, 83, of West Mifflin, Fell Asleep in the Lord peacefully at home on Saturday, July 31, 2021. Born in Duquesne, March 27, 1938, she was the daughter of the late Michael John Rohaly and Anna (Kirshnir) Rohaly. A graduate of Duquesne High School, she was a curious lifelong learner. Mrs. Ivan was a faithful member of St. John Byzantine Catholic Cathedral, Munhall and a retired Tax Clerk for West Mifflin Boro where she worked for  many years. Beloved wife of the late Michael E. Ivan, Pat enjoyed big band music, taking a turn on the dance floor, and traveling with Mike, her spouse of   51 years. She is survived by: four loving children Mary Ann Ivan, Michelle Ivan, Melissa (Richard Bowden) Ivan, and Michael Jon Ivan; three grandchildren Ahnwyn Bowden, and Ella and Cohen Ivan; three sisters Regina (Robert) Reitmyer, Margaret (late Jay) Walsh, Bernadine (Michael) Gonos;  and her sister-in-law, Olga Hanko. She was also preceded in death by her siblings, Albert, Edward, Robert, and Jerald Rohaly, Annie Tompko, Wilma Goscinsky, and Mildred Kikos.

Beloved wife of Raymond J. Spirnak, she is also survived by her loving children, Dale (Michelle) Spirnak of Munhall, Jacqueline Spirnak of Bridgeville, Gary Spirnak of California, Donna Greiner of Indiana, Karen (Richard) Allen of Tennessee, David Spirnak of Texas and Ray Spirnak of Indiana, five grand children, Eric and Nicholas Greiner, Mark and John Spirnak, and Lauren Poland, and one great granddaughter, Vivian Poland. Jane A. (Johnson) Miller, 70, of West Mifflin, died peacefully at home on Monday, July 12, 2021. Born on February 16, 1951, in Denver, Colorado, she was the daughter of the late Wilbur and Helen (Butler) Johnson. Mrs. Miller was a retired medical assistant and enjoyed crafting, ceramics, and painting. Beloved wife of the late Frank J. Miller, she is survived by a son, Reuben Joseph (Colleen) Miller II, a daughter, Melanie Kovalsky, a brother, James (Cynthia) Johnson, seven grand children, Vanessa, Bert IV, and Samantha Kovalsky, and Lance, Lexus, Reuben III, and Magnus Miller, and two great grandchildren, Skye and Raine Jordan. In addition to her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by a granddaughter, Faith Miller.

Raymond T. Sovak, 72, of Jefferson Hills, formerly of Duquesne, fell asleep in the Lord on Sunday, July 4, 2021. Born in Pittsburgh, September 10, 1948, he was the son of the Late John N. and Bertha V. (Hudak) Sovak. Mr. Sovak was a member of SS Peter & Paul Byzantine Catholic Church, Duquesne. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He is survived by a brother Eugene (Late Marsha) Sovak; two nieces, Dr. Lisa Ann Sovak, and Christine Marie Sovak; and five cousins, James R. Hudak, Francis R. Hudak, Georgeann Clymer, George E. Sovak, and Joanne (Fred) Conner. In addition to his parents he also was preceded in death by a brother John F. Sovak, and two cousins Rev. Robert A. Kohuch and Joseph M. Ruszkoski.

 Family and friends will be received on Wednesday, July 7, 2021 in the William S. Skovranko Memorial Home, Inc., Duquesne, from 9am until a Panachida service at 11am. Liturgy of Christian Burial will follow at 11:30am in SS Peter and Paul Church with Rev. Will Rupp as Celebrant. Burial will follow in SS. Peter and Paul Cemetery, West Mifflin.

Mary R. (Spirnak) Sabol, 94, of West Mifflin, died peacefully on Tuesday June 22, 2021, in Dumfries, VA., at the home of her daughter, Marian. Born August 30, 1926, in Duquesne, she was the daughter of the late John and Elizabeth (Balogac) Spirnak. Mary was a member of St. Thomas the Apostle Parish, Holy Trinity Church, West Mifflin. For many years Mary was involved in Parish activities working in the kitchen with everything from fish fries, and funeral repast to baking ceregi. She was the beloved wife of the late John J. Sabol, and is survived by two daughters, Marian (Michael) Gross of Virginia and Audrey (Frank) Steiner of West Mifflin, a brother, Raymond (Marie) Spirnak of Munhall and a sister, Eleanor (Late Thomas "Tim") Marcinko of Whitaker, four grandchildren, Eugene Sabol, Rachael (Bill) Fike, Caitlin Steiner (Matthew Kanczes), Bethany Steiner, and four great grandchildren, Aiden and Ashton Fike, and Laura and Caroline Kanczes; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by a son, Eugene Sabol and a grandson, Jonathan Steiner.

Mildred (Boruch) 0tlano, 93, of West Mifflin, died peacefully Monday, May 17, 2021, in UPMC Heritage Place, Pittsburgh. Born June 26, 1927, in Braddock, she was the daughter of the Late Joseph and Martha (Walendziewicz) Boruch. Mrs. Otlano was a member of St. Thomas The Apostle Parish, Resurrection Church, West Mifflin. Beloved Wife of the Late John Otlano. She is survived by two sons, John Jr. and Mark , a daughter, Linda , sixteen grandchildren, twenty-two great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents, she was also preceded in death by two daughters, Martha and Antionette , three brothers, Joseph, Michael and Raymond Boruch, and two sisters, Florence A. Boruch and Agnes Guzewicz .

Family and friends will be received on Thursday, May 20, 2021, from 4-8pm in the William S. Skovranko Memorial Home Inc., 828 Richford St., Duquesne. A Blessing in the Memorial Home on Friday, May 21, 2021, at 9:30am will be followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 10am in Resurrection Church with Rev. Nicholas Mastrangelo as celebrant. Burial will follow in All aints Catholic Cemetery, Braddock Hills.

Veronica Kinch, of Montgomery, Texas, formerly of West Mifflin, Pennsylvania, passed peacefully from this life to eternal rest, surrounded by her family, on Saturday, May 1.  Born in McKeesport, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of Nicholas and Mary Opatick.  Frank, her husband of 56 years, preceded her in death, along with four siblings:  Bernard (Natalie), Eugene ‘Skip’ (Elaine), Lawrence ‘Tubby’ (Norma, surviving), Marianne (Ronald).

Veronica is survived by her children Jonathan ‘Jay’ (Becki), Timothy (Kim), and Laura Jean (Sean); seven grandchildren, Stephanie (Frank), Brittanie, Jacqueline, Jennifer (Greg), Troy (Linzie), Ryan and Darren; three great-grandchildren Blaine, Priscilla Grace, and Paizley; her helpful nephew, Wayne; many nieces and nephews, cousins, and her cat Maggie.

During her life, she built a successful career as a Sales Representative for Bell Telephone, later Verizon, and was an excellent homemaker, wife, mother, Gramsey, Great Gram, and Aunt.  She attended Holy Trinity Catholic School, graduated from Duquesne High School, and was a member of Saints Peter and Paul Byzantine Catholic Church, in Duquesne, PA., for more than 60 years.  She loved animals, was passionate about her garden and yard, was a member of the Telephone Pioneers, and the First Catholic Slovak Ladies Association.  She was proud of her entire family and always showed an interest by keeping in touch with everyone.

Andrew Hrizo, 92, of Laurel Mountain Boro., formerly of Duquesne, fell asleep in the Lord on Saturday, April 17, 2021. Born May 22, 1928,in Duquesne, he was the son of the late Peter and Mary (Laychak) Hrizo. Mr. Hrizo was a retired employee of the former Duquesne Works U.S. Steel Corporation, a proud veteran of the U.S. Army, serving during the Korean conflict, a member of the Gen. Smedley D. Butler White Oak American Legion, the Fort Ligonier V.F.W. Post 734, and a former member of Ss. Peter and Paul Byzantine Catholic Church, Duquesne. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Peter and John Hrizo, and four sisters, Mary Hrizo, Ann Hrizo, Helen Haluschak and Margaret Pomocki. He is survived by a nephew, Dennis (Brandalyn) Hollin and great nieces and nephews.

Born in Homestead on April 11, 1959, he was the son of Margaret "Midge" (Mihailoff) Stanoszek and the late Theodore "Hambone" Stanoszek. Rick was a self employed painter and proprietor of Rick's Painting and an avid Softball and Basketball player. In addition to his mother, he is also survived by his beloved wife, Diane (Cole) Stanoszek, two loving sons, Cory Stanoszek (Rachel Madden) and Cody Stanoszek (Ashley Harrigan), three sisters, Cindy (Dennis) Mitrik, Diane "DeeDee" Troutman, and Lori (Craig) Skovranko, and several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews, and cousins.

Gabriel R. Hrico, 90, of West Mifflin fell asleep in the Lord peacefully at home on Thursday, March 11, 2021.

Born in McKeesport on September 2, 1930, he was the son of the Late John F. and Margaret (Hromi) Hrico. Mr. Hrico was a foundering and faithful member of S.S. Peter & Paul Byzantine Catholic Church, Duquesne; member and former officer of the Parish Men's Club; a retired educator and beloved teacher in the Duquesne School District with 35 years of service.

A proud veteran of the U.S. Army serving during the Korean conflict. Beloved husband of the Late Virginia (Kuzo) Hrico, he is survived by his loving children Lori Hrico, West Mifflin and David Hrico, Easton PA, and a sister-in-law, Madeline Fecik, Strongsville, Ohio, and God Father to Kristy Ann (Kuzo) and Christopher (Loya). In addition to his parents and loving wife, he was also preceded in Death by his son Michael J. Hrico and 4 Brothers.
