She was a property manager for many years. She was a former member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church-Irwin, where she was a former Sunday school teacher. She loved shopping and craft shows. Linda adored her grandchildren, from just sitting and playing games with them to coming to big events in their lives, she was alway there. She also loved the beach. These past few months, Linda had been obsessed with Baywatch. She said it made her feel like she was on the beach. She truly had such a great personality and such a big heart. She also loved traveling with her family, especially over the past many years with Summer to the Caribbean.
Linda is the mother of Nicole (Doug) Smith of Summerville, South Carolina and Summer (Jason) Pendro of North Huntingdon; grandmother of Ashley, Steven, Alyssa and Miabella; and sister of Edmund (Patty) Klingensmith of Chalfant, Robert E. “Bobby” Malmberg Jr. and the late Gwendolyn Kay (Harold survives) Lawhorne and late Patricia “Pat” Ellen (Thomas survives) Valko. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.
Spending time with her family and friends for the holidays was something she always looked forward to. Every holiday, no matter which one it was, you would always hear Linda’s voice. She loved to sit and catch up with everyone.
Memorial Visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 21, 2024, from 4-8 p.m., at the MALOY-SCHLEIFER FUNERAL HOME, INC., 915 KENNEDY AVE., DUQUESNE, 15110, 412-466-3300, WILLIAM B. SCHLEIFER, SUPERVISOR, WILLIAM BRIAN SCHLEIFER, FUNERAL DIRECTOR. A Memorial Funeral Service will be held at the Funeral Home on Thursday, February 22, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor John Gropp, officiating.

Marlene G. Bailey, 92, of Buena Vista, passed away Friday, February 16, 2024. She was born June 30, 1931 in McKeesport and was the daughter of the late Catherine B. Gardner (nee McLean) and Carl E. Swanson. She was the wife of 58 years to the late John E. “Jack” Bailey, who passed away June 12, 2016. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Frank, a member of the Buena Vista Volunteer Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary, and a member of the Rebekah Order of the Odd Fellows. Marlene was an avid gardener and did a lot of her own canning over the years. She was a collector of antiques and antique bottles and amassed an extensive collection of all types of old bottles, many of which she dug out of the ground in different locales around the area. For many years she did volunteer work for the Central Food Pantry of Elizabeth Township, including a tenure as president. She also worked for the G.C. Murphy Co. in their home office in McKeesport in the 1950’s. She enjoyed traveling and shopping and spending time with friends. She was well-loved by friends and family and her kindness, generosity and good humor will be greatly missed.

]On December 20th at 9:30am Rose Marie Daugherty(Martinez) passed away. Born September 15th, 1933 in Mckeesport, PA. She was the daughter of the late James W. and Florence (Rock) Daugherty. She was the owner and operator of Rock's Personal Care Home in Mckeesport, PA for 42 years. She faithfully attended Corpus Christ Church in Mckeesport, PA. Rose had always been known for being kind, loving, caring. She also had a knack for saying things that stuck in a person's head. She had very strong faith and beautiful relationship with God. She prayed 3 times a day and carried her rosary in her purse or on her person.

John L. Cindric, Jr., 80, of Liberty Borough died February 15, 2024, at home surrounded by his loving family. He was born September 13, 1943, in McKeesport, son of the late John L. and Ann (Kochis) Cindric, Sr., and husband of Marie (Slick) Cindric.
John led a life defined by hard work and honorable service. He proudly served in the United States Army and was a great supporter of several veteran service organizations. He worked for many years at Edgar Thompson Steel Works, proudly earning retirement. Affectionately known as "Papa John", being a grand & great-grandfather was one of the greatest joys in his life. John was a simple man; he enjoyed going out to eat with his wife, spending time with his family, and going to Hoot's to hang out with his good friend, Hoot.

Peter Horace Hawkins, 86, of Duquesne, affectionately known as Pete, was born January 14, 1938, in Moultrie, GA. He was the beloved son of the late Dock and Adeline McKenize Hawkins. Pete peacefully departed this life on February 8, 2024, surrounded by his beloved family in Duquesne, PA.
Pete dropped out of school at an early age to help take care of sisters and brother. Pete protected his siblings and shared a special bond with all of them. Pete and his sister Patricia have the same smile that would light up a room. Although Pete did not finish school. He was a diligent worker.
He worked in construction as a laborer for over 50 years. Union Local 373. He retired on January 1, 2000. When he retired, he attended events for construction workers. He also attended and participated in the Labor Day Parade in Downtown Pittsburgh. He took several family members with him. Pete was a passionate and loving man he loved all his family and friends. Pete was a smooth fellow, always dressed nicely, and during family events and gatherings, you could catch him on the dance floor doing his two-step and spin-around dance.

Audrey June Hines, 74, of Pittsburgh, was born September 13, 1949, in McKeesport, PA.
Audrey departed this life on February 10, 2024, at Magee Women’s Hospital in Pittsburgh, PA.
She was the beloved daughter of the late John Dixon Jr. and Jimmie Roberta Elizabeth Greer Dixon. Audrey was the oldest of six children and growing up in Smithdale, Pennsylvania where she attended Bethlehem Baptist Church and accepted Jesus Christ as her personal Lord and Savior at a young age.
After graduating from Elizabeth Forward High School class of 1967, Audrey furthered her education and received a master’s degree from the University of Pittsburgh in Library and Information Science. She soon went to work in the Carnegie Library system working both at the Oakland and Squirrel Hill Libraries until retirement.

Penny L. Kiefer, age 64, of McKeesport, died on February 3, 2024. Born September 30, 1959, in McKeesport, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Helen (Magee) Moon and the wife of Paul Keifer. Penny is survived by children, Penny Walls, Darlene Walls, Crystal Kiefer, Billy Kiefer, Tabitha Kiefer, Tonya Kiefer, Heather Kiefer, Dennis Kiefer, and Joseph Kiefer; brothers, Dennis, John, and Elmer Moon; sisters, Jesse Moon and JoAnne Roney. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by a son, Ryan Kiefer, and brothers, Ronald, Clyde, and Alvin Moon. Arrangements were entrusted to Willig Funeral Home & Crematory.
