Mary Pauline Revak, age 85, of McKeesport, died January 23, 2021, at home. Born March 25, 1935, in  Marion County, WV, she was the daughter of Raymond and Nancy (Shreere) Winemiller and the wife of the late William Revak.

Mary was retired from Laidlaw Transit Services as a school bus driver and truly loved her job. She traveled anywhere and everywhere she could. Mary made sure to visit several casinos during her travels. Her family knew her as the Queen Baker and taught all of them how to bake. Mary made the best lady locks and other treats like cookies and chocolates. She enjoyed doing crafts of any kind and doing her crossword puzzles. Mary was very loved by her family.

John was currently working at West Mifflin High School, where he was a security guard. He was a US Army veteran serving during the Vietnam War. John was a member of the VFW Post 914 'Intrepid' West Mifflin. He had a passion for collecting, trolling flea markets, building models and old movies.

Geraldine M. Solano, age 75, of White Oak, died January 19, 2021, at home. Born May 4, 1945, in McKeesport, she was the daughter of the late Peter Joseph and Julia Elizabeth (DiNino) Solano.

Geraldine retired from Mann's Home Medical Products as a medical biller. She received her Associate's degree in Accounting from CCAC South. Geraldine was a member of Mary, Mother of God Parish, St. Angela Merici site. In her free time, she enjoyed going to eat with her friends and celebrating their birthdays together.

Geraldine is survived by her brother, Francis (Carol) Solano of Renfrew, PA, many nieces and a nephew.

Anthony "Tony" B. Koontz, age 55 of Clairton, passed away on Thursday, January 21, 2021.  He was a Marine and Industrial Sales Representative for Sherwin Williams, Eastern Region, a member of Triumph of the Holy Cross Parish, St. Clare Church in Clairton, and a US Army Veteran.  In his spare time, he coached Clairton youth recreation football and baseball for many years, was a motorsport enthusiast, and loved motocross and his Harley-Davidson.  Tony was known as the “Fig Whisperer” after proudly and successfully growing one in his yard.  He loved to garden and looked after any youths that needed his help and will be remembered as a loving husband and father.  Born July 21, 1965 in Pittsburgh, he was a son of the late Randall Koontz Sr. and Judith Piasente (Melvin) Long of Clairton.  Besides his mother, he is survived by his wife Nicole  (Saputo) Koontz;  son, Bryson A. Koontz of Clairton; brothers Randall (Ruth) Koontz, Jr. of Donora, Christopher (Brenda) Koontz of Mount Pleasant and Brian (the late Erin Pittman) Koontz of Clairton; nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.

A bright light went out of our lives on Christmas Day when Claudia Sue Geary ended her journey here with us. After a short stay at Halifax Medical & Brooks Rehab. in Daytona Beach, she was briefly at Halifax Hospice in Port Orange. Claudia was born in 1949 in McKeesport, Pa, graduated from Clairton High School and matriculated at California University in Pennsylvania for her Bachelor's degree.

Although a Volusia County resident for over 40 years, she maintained close ties to her McKeesport friends and relatives and for many years attended annual reunions. Claudia enjoyed exploring her family history and genealogy, which led to her being installed in 2014 into the Jane Sheldon Chapter of the National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution (NSDAR).

Claudia's professional career was devoted to assisting both parents and students in financing higher education. She was Director of Student Financial Aid at Embry Riddle Aeronautical University, Associate Director of Student Financial Aid at University of South Florida in Tampa and for Bank of America assisted colleges & universities throughout the southeastern region. She was also past President of the Florida Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators (FASFAA). Claudia enjoyed knitting, contributing numerous items to friends, relatives and charitable groups. Cooking, sharing recipes and landscaping were also favorite hobbies.

Patricia M. Grainger, 90, a resident of Walden’s View Personal Care, North Huntingdon, formerly of Clairton, died Wednesday, January 20, 2021.  She was born May 19, 1930 in New Castle, a daughter of the late Howard F. and Margaret (Walls) Rowland. 

She was a member and longtime children’s choir director for Pine Run United Methodist Church, Clairton.  She was a very talented person singing, dancing, and playing the drums, and performing with her late husband  Gordon Grainger with the Yankee Doodle Dandies. 

They performed in many civic centers and parades, and entertained at nursing homes.

He was born on March 29^th, 1931 to the late Edward P. and Mildred Gelser Crane. Vincent was the loving husband of 67 years to Dolores F. Teetsel Crane. Robert E. Haden II, 70, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 19, 2021. Some people say that, no matter how old you are, your mind is still 25 years old. Bob Haden was one of those people. Forever young at heart, Bob traded in phrases like "Age is just a number," and "All to excess." For those who knew him in his 70 years, he lived these maxims; he was a force of nature, a cosmic prototype, but even the best-made machines eventually break down. After his latest cardiac tune-up, on Tuesday, Jan. 19, Bob did the final upload, sending his consciousness to the Cloud. A member of the Academy of Model Aeronautics and active in the Mon Valley RC Club, some may know him by his ham radio call sign, K3OIU ("Old Indian Underwear"), an homage to his father's amateur radio moniker. He enjoyed meticulously building and flying model aircrafts, forever enchanted by the ability to trace majestic geometries in the air. Off the flying field, Bob was a MacGyver, custom-making equipment, and he loved being on the leading edge of technology. He indulged his love of sports cars throughout his life, their customization and impeccable cleanliness, starting with drag racing through Irwin in his youth. Back then, a threat from the police to tell his mother was all the discipline needed. Despite his beloved Corvettes and the like, he stated his Chrysler Crossfire was the most fun he had ever had on four wheels. Perhaps Bob's greatest legacy is his genius, sometimes arriving at work solutions during lucid dreams. At the age of 19, he began what would become a 47-year-long career at Bettis Atomic Power Laboratory. He started out as a technician, became a supervisor, and finished as a brilliant designer of thermohydraulic tests, all without ever obtaining a college degree. His children grew up under the tutelage of a self-made man who instilled in them passion, drive and an example of seeking one's own destiny. Inside this beloved man was a tender heart invested in his family, encouraging them to discover their highest happiness, whatever form that should take. Bob is survived by wife, Diana; children, Kim, Rob, Jonathan and Heather; grandchildren, Samantha, Shellbie and Maeve; great-grandson, Hero; and sister, Kathy. William John Henry, 76, was born April 18, 1944, in McKeesport, PA. The beloved son of the late John Hubert Bray, Richard J. Henry III (stepfather), and Dorothy Mae (Baker) Henry departed this life on January 17, 2021, at UPMC McKeesport. Johnny, as he was known as, retired from U.S. Steel, Irvin Works Plant where he held a variety of positions for almost 40 years.

When at all possible; you would see him pulling up to the coffee shop, with a ball cap on and driving a Cadillac. He loved his daughters, granddaughters and the Pittsburgh steelers.

He was a member of the United Steelworkers Union. Johnny is survived by his ex-wife, Dayle (Obradovich) Henry; two daughters, Michelle Elaine (Raheem) Muhammad and Denise Henry (Thomas) Barnes of McKeesport, PA; 3 grandchildren; Tommi Lynn Barnes, Mulana Anjail and Naylah Elaine Muhammad; brothers, Richard J. IV of Fort Wayne, IN, Michael (Darlene) of Elizabeth, Keith Henry of McKeesport, John and Marlowe Bray of McKeesport. Sisters, Audrey (Kenneth) Hamlin of Clairton, Sharryl (Richard) Kokoska of Port Vue, Carol Bennett, Danella, Phyllis, Loretta, Sherlyn (Lamont) Butler, Yvonne and Shelarise Bray of McKeesport.
