Laura Jean Thomas, 90 of Dravosburg passed away on Monday, January 25, 2021 at South Western Nursing Home. She was born in Dravosburg on April 15th, 1930 to the late Charles B. and Ida Grimm Thomas of Dravosburg. She is survived by children; Dan Thomas of Elizabeth, and Jacquelyn (Ralph) Farine of Lincoln Place, grandchildren; Jessica, Megan, Brandon, Lindsay, and Charles, great grandchildren; Brenden, Presten, and Jaimsen. Laura Thomas was preceded in death by sisters; Ida, Myrtle, Lila, and Elizabeth (Betty) brothers; Charles, David, Willis and Robert, and granddaughter Shaney. She was a member of the Teamsters #205 and worked 28 and a half years at McKeesport Hospital as a physical therapy aid. She enjoyed traveling and went to Australia and Ireland. She is survived by her children Louise (the late Harold) Phillips, Thomas Capozzoli, Phyllis Capozzoli and Maryann (Raymond) Capozzoli Jarusinski; grandchildren Christopher, James, Brian, Natalie, Anthony and Taylor; 9 great grandchildren and her brother Frank Luketich. Jean was a member of Queen of the Rosary Parish, Christian Mothers, and St. Cecilia's Bowling League. Jean loved the casinos and had a heart of gold. Leonard “Curly” Spence, 79, of Homestead, Pennsylvania, departed this life peacefully on Tuesday, January 19, 2021, at the VA Hospital in Aspinwall.
He was born October 11, 1941, in Clairton, Pennsylvania to the late John and Cora Strong Spence. He was also preceded in death by his siblings, Janie, Petro, John, Roosevelt, Eddie, Harvey, Littleton, and Oleter Spence-Jacobs, stepchildren, Dewayne, and Shawn.
Curly spent most of his life working as a Machine Operator until he retired. He was a veteran, who served in the United States Army.
He leaves to mourn his loving memories, daughter, Mona (Spence) Sizemore of Penn Hills, Pennsylvania; four grandchildren, Lauren, Corey, Shawn & Robbie; two great-grandchildren, Zara & Zemora; sister, Reba King Booker of Queens, New York; son-in-law, Robert E. Norma Brown, 81, died Jan. 21, 2021 in UPMC St. Margaret Hospital. She was born Sept. 27, 1939, the daughter of the David Jenkins and Melba Dolores (Lovey) Jenkins was born September 27, 1939.
Norma was an avid bingo player and enjoyed putting together puzzles and crosswords. She also enjoyed spending time with her family and loved playing softball and was the scorekeeper for the following leagues: The Talk of the Town Gallery Lounge, The Continental Lounge and The Street Stars Lounge.
Her life and memory will be forever cherished by her husband of 58 years, Curtiss Brown, and daughter; Kismet Graciano of McKeesport. John E. Reed Jr., 70, of Irwin, died suddenly Friday January 22, 2021. He was born April 4, 1950 in Owensdale, a son of the late John E. Sr. and Minnie (Schwartz) Reed and was also preceded in death by a sister Marsha Knight. John was a retired employee of Reed Tool & Die Co. and was an Army and Navy veteran. He was a member and Elder of West Hempfield Presbyterian Church, the Irwin Sportsman’s Club, the NRA, and enjoyed spending time at the trailer in Punxsutawney where he liked to hunt and fish.

MaryEllen McGuire, 94, died Jan. 7, 2021, in Fair Oaks, Calif. She was born Sept. 30, 1926 in Pittsburgh, oldest of eight children. She was raised in the Catholic faith, which would later become the cornerstone of her life as she raised 10 children.
MaryEllen loved her faith, singing in the church choir, playing Bunco with her friends, and most of all she loved being a mother. She is survived by four siblings, Mercy Order Sisters Jeanne and Catherine, Bill and Marge; children Kathy, Tim, Maureen (Don), Cynthia (John), Eileen, Neal (Kristi), Anne (Troy) and Pat (Chrissi); 22 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

(Jobe) Carney. Marie was the wife of the late Emidio G. Cecchini, who passed away January 11, 1978. She was a longtime member of Mary, Mother of God, Corpus Christi Site. She was active in politics her whole life and was a committee woman for McKeesport for several years. She worked as a magistrate secretary in McKeesport office for 25 years, was an avid bingo player and loved the casino. Marie loved to go out to eat, go dancing and listening to music, her favorite songs were "All Night Long" by Lionel Ritchie and "In The Mood" by Glen Miller.
