Mary Ann Peterson, age 91, of Elizabeth Twp., PA, died on Wednesday, April 10, 2024. She was born in Pittsburgh, PA on May 8, 1932, grew up in Forest Hills, PA, and was the daughter of the late Walter and Anna Szmyd Matusz. She was also the wife of the late Edward A. Peterson, Sr., who died on October 15, 2015. Mary Ann was employed as a secretary for the University of Pittsburgh for many years.

Judith A. Evans, 76, of North Huntingdon, departed this earth April 11, 2024. She was born June 10, 1947 in Mckeesport and was the youngest of six children and the only girl to the late John Elmer and Viola Rosetta (Bookamer) Evans. In her youth she was an accomplished gymnast, training locally at Turner’s Gym nearly qualifying for the US Olympic Team in 1968. Until recently, Judy ran her own successful business having to retire for health reasons. She is survived by her daughters, Kristin Carlson of Penn Trafford, Kate (Jason) Zavacky of White Oak, brother Thomas (Diane) Evans of Port Vue, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her son, Kirk Carlson, former spouse Michael A. Carlson, and brothers Jack Arnold Evans, William E. Evans, James Douglas Evans, and Robert Bruce Evans. She will be remembered for bringing an energy to everything she did. Judy would like you to cherish all the good times you shared together. There will be no public visitation. James W. Henry W. Kalkbrenner, 81, of North Huntingdon, passed away Wednesday, April 10, 2024. He was born June 30, 1942 and was the son of the late Frederick and Dorothy (Lewis) Kalkbrenner. He was the loving husband of 60 years to Anita Kalkbrenner. Henry was a United States Marine Corps veteran. He worked for U.S. Steel as a Blast Furnace Supervisor at the Duquesne and Edgar Thompson Works. He was also a member of the Duquesne Works Retirement Group. He loved hunting, fishing and golfing with his golf league at Butler's.

On Tuesday April 2, 2024, Robert Ruyechan, age 91 of Pittsburgh passed away. Son of the late Michael Ruyechan and Teresa (Matelan) Ruyechan. Beloved Husband of the late Clare (Blessing) Ruyechan. Bob was preceded in death by his brothers Raymond Ruyechan, Michael (the late Millie) Ruyechan, and nephew Wayne Ruyechan. He is survived by Sister-in-law Evelyn (Lazor), niece Renee Ruyechan, nephews Damian Ruyechan and Michael ( Jill ) Ruyechan, great-nephew Kadin, great Niece Chelsea Mariah Gilkey and Bob’s Beloved Significant Other Nancy Rygiel. Bob was a Korean War Veteran, serving in the Army. He was an engineer—a profession that allowed him to travel the world and live abroad—Venezuela, Poland and Mexico. To know Bob was to love Bob. He was an intelligent, honest, genuine, humorous and kind human being. Bob loved his automobiles! Having started out driving a Thunderbird in his early days, keeping the love alive by driving a Ford Mustang in his later life (his eighties!!) and most recently driving his Lincoln SUV. Bob was an expert marksman, having enjoyed being a longtime member of several gun clubs.

Marlene F. Kucera, of North Versailles, passed on April 9th 2024, at the age of 75. She will be greeted in loving embrace by her parents, Dorris (Mull) and Irvine Kucera, sister, Ellen M. Meacham, and brother, I. Duane Kucera who preceded her in death. She is survived by her brother-in-law, Donald Meacham, sister-in-law, Jacqueline Kucera. She was the loving aunt of Lesa (John) Toncich, Jolene Marie (Blair) Bogdan, Justin Kucera, and Alita (Chris) East.; great-aunt of Dominic Toncich, Parker Bogdan, Cooper Bogdan, Spencer Bogdan, Jacob East, and Jamisyn East.
Marlene lived in Green Valley all her life. She graduated from Westinghouse Memorial High School / East Allegheny School District in 1966, and was a member of Junior Achievement. She also attended Forbes Road East Technical School for printing. She worked for Baierl Chevrolet for 12 years. She also worked at JD Printing, WEBCO, Sir Speedy Printing, and managed RBJ Graphics. She was a member and officer of Pathfinder Credit Union / United Community Federal Credit Union. She retired in 2011.

Elaine C. (Mooney) Allen, age 79, of East McKeesport passed away Tuesday, April 9, 2024. She was born February 4, 1945 in Braddock, a daughter of the late William Mooney and Irene (Curtis) Gingery. She enjoyed working in retail sales at Fashion Bug in the East Land Mall before it closed. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of over 28 years William J. Allen; daughter Michelle Lubly; brother William Mooney and James Mooney; and sister Marlene Mooney. She is survived by her niece Joann (Tim) Gusty that she was very close with and thought of as a daughter; and nieces Sharon (Jeffrey) Wiley, Coleen (Mark) Rosol and Nicole Mooney. Don A. Licht, age 73 of Canonsburg and formerly of West Elizabeth, passed away on Monday, April 8, 2024 in Townview Health and Rehabilitation Center, McMurray. Born October 28, 1950 in McKeesport, he was a son of the late Carl "Cotty" and Nancy (Caulkett) Licht. Don was a veteran of the US Navy serving during the Vietnam War and worked as a Millwright for US Steel, Clairton Works. He is survived by his daughter Allison (Daniel) Licht-Brown of Presto; son Chad (Melissa) Licht of Pittsburgh; grandchildren Sabrina, Trinity, and Mia Brown and Chad and Emma Licht; sisters MaryJane Hickman and Nancy Licht-Barone; brother Carl "Randy Licht" and Richard Licht; and also nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother Bill Licht.

Genevieve M. (Nickolay) Pavlic, age 94 of Port Vue, passed away at home on Monday, April 8, 2024. Born January 11, 1930 in Upper St. Clair, she was a daughter of the late Albert J. and Mary Ann (Orient) Nickolay. A retired salesperson at Kaufmann's Department Store in Pittsburgh, Genevieve was a member of Sts. Joachim and Anne Parish - St. Eugene's Site in Liberty Borough, the Port Vue Seniors, the CFU #3 of Versailles. In her spare time, she enjoyed collecting antiques and collectables. Her daughter will remember as the best mom in the world. Besides her parents, Genevieve was preceded in death by her husband Frank J. Pavlic; who passed away September 11, 1987, her daughter Jean Marie Pavlic; and her siblings Mary Ann Gallagher, Catherine Lakomy, and Albert, Joseph, and Bernard Nickolay. She is survived by her daughter Mary Ann Zsak of Port Vue, her sister Theresa Beggs, her sister-in-law Irene Pavlic, and also many nieces and nephews.
