He was a retired millwright at U.S. Steel National Tube in McKeesport and a U.S. Navy Veteran of Vietnam. He was a member of the Smithton American Legion Post #790 and an avid tournament pool player in the APA League.

Irene (Lomis) Helman, age 91 of Clairton, passed away on Wednesday, August 7, 2019 at Jefferson Hospital.  Born August 14, 1927 in Clairton, she was a daughter of the late John and Suzanne (Majer) Lomis.  She obtained an Associate’s Degree from C.C.A.C., was a retired medical assistant for Jefferson Hospital in Jefferson Hills, was the former secretary at First Presbyterian Church in Clairton, and a long time member of the Coast Guard Auxiliary.  She was a member of Wilson Presbyterian Church in Clairton.  Irene was also the caregiver for her nephew James Lomis.  She joins her husband, the late Ralph J. Helman Sr..

Colonna, age 90 of Clairton, passed away at home on Wednesday, August 7, 2019.  Born November 7, 1928 in Clairton, she was a daughter of the late Mariano and Cleria (Calabrese) Rossi.  A member of St. Clare of Assisi Parish - where she was a former Lector, Eucharistic Minister and church council member - Frances was also a member of the former Sons of Columbus Ladies' Genova Council #6 of Clairton.  She joins her husband, the late Peter Colonna, who passed away August 12, 1992, and her siblings Michael Rossi and Norina D'Antonio.  Frances is survived by her children Thomas Colonna of Glassport and Andrea Bischoff of Hillsborough, NJ; her grandchildren Laura Elwell and Jennifer and Leland Colonna; her great-grandchildren Daniel, Benjamin, Sara, Mary, Anna, Holly, Joseph, and William Elwell; her nephew John and niece Claire D'Antonio; and her remaining nieces and nephews.

Harry Lee Jeffers, age 78 of Clairton, passed away on Tuesday, July 30, 2019 in Jefferson Hospital.  Born July 28, 1941 in Floreffe, he was a US Army Veteran and worked at J&L Steel's South Side Works in Pittsburgh, the Yorkshire, and McDonalds.  He is survived by his wife of 29 years Mae Ann (Lazur) Ward; his sisters Dawn Walker and Debbie Simkin; and also nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, Harry was preceded in death by his siblings Howard Jeffers and Janet Werner.  Funeral arrangements for Harry are private at the request of his family.  Memorial contributions in his name should be made to either the American Heart Association, 444 Liberty Ave., #1300, Pittsburgh, PA 15222 or South Hills Pet Rescue, 15 Old 88, South Park, PA 15129.

Locke and Juanita (Wilson) Orzel Locke.  A retired Yardmaster with more than 41 years of experience with the Union Railroad, Tim was a member of the Allegheny County Transit Council.  He is survived by his wife of 47 years Linda (Dennison) Locke; his children Timothy (Jeanne) Locke of White Oak and Jennifer (Justin) Locke of Urbana, IL; his six grandchildren James and June Leiby, Derek Tokosh, Christine Locke, and Justin and Michael Cheeseman; his sister Lucinda Tonkovic of Greer, SC; and also his nephew.

M. Mason, Lodge #765, of the 32nd. Degree.  He is survived by his daughter Deanna (Thomas) Nicholson of McKeesport; his grandchildren Joseph and Daniel Nicholson; his great-grandson Noah; his step-grandchildren Samantha and Thomas, II; his sisters Mary Petrina of McKeesport, Lucy Lapinski of McKeesport, Doreena Elliot of McKeesport, and Ann Bootman of Cherry Tree; his nieces and nephews; and his long time companion Patricia Talavinia.  Besides his parents, Joseph was preceded in death by his brother Dominick DiMeo.

She retired as an anesthesia tech at McKeesport Hospital and was a member of Bethesda United Presbyterian Church in Elizabeth. Like Rosie the Riveter, she worked at U.S. Steel Irvin Works during World War II. She loved her family, her home, animals and she enjoyed baking. She was an extremely generous person who loved Christmas and giving gifts.

Born September 22, 1932, he was the son of the late Pasquale “Patsy” and Freda (Russo) Macioce and beloved husband of 50 years to the late Janice (Cochran) Macioce. He was the loving father of Gary J. (Sandra) Macioce of DuBois, Darren P. (Mary Ann) Macioce of Pine Township, Judy A. (Thomas) Wolfgang of Elizabeth and Robert M. (Francine) Macioce of Moon Township; grandfather of eight grandchildren, four step-grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren; and brother of Patricia (Robert) King of Verona and her twin sister, the late Dolores Ann Macioce. Also survived by many very close friends and relatives and will be greatly missed by his family and the many who loved him, including his caregivers and residents at Paramount Senior Living.

(Melanie Dortschy) Campoli and Larry (Dara) Campoli; her grandchildren Chase, Danielle, Max & Jake Campoli.  In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her son Robert Campoli and her siblings Joseph Deflavis and Elizabeth Mussori.

Stanley F. Makoski Sr., age 68, of McKeesport, formerly of Mt. Washington, passed away on Wednesday, July 10, 2019 at Jefferson Hospital. He retired as a mail carrier for the U.S. Postal Service on the North Side. As a child, he was on the safety patrol in elementary school, sang in the youth choir, and served as an altar boy. In his 20s, he took the Civil Service test and passed with a score of 93. Stanley delivered mail to Art Rooney, who often gifted him with a cigar or two. He loved the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Pirates and faithfully followed both teams on television. On March 22, he celebrated 15 years of sobriety and being smoke-free. He prided himself on living his life "one day at a time."
