Regina M. Stretavski, age 59 of Baldwin, passed away on Sunday, May 5, 2019 in Jefferson Hills Manor.  Born July 15, 1959 in Pittsburgh, she was a daughter of the late Regis Allen Stretavski, Sr. and Margaret (Marcin) Stretavski.  A member of St. Elizabeth of Hungary Roman Catholic Church in Baldwin, Regina was a lovely and loving woman and quite a talented vocalist and guitar player.  She is survived by her son Julian Stretavski; her grandchildren Johann S. and Eleanor M. Stretavski; her siblings James and Kevin (Pat) Stretavski, Roberta (Mark) Szekeres, Michele (David) Savinda, and Renee (Ron) Mitko; and also many nieces and nephews.  Besides her parents, Regina was preceded in death by her siblings Lavern McCartan, Regis Allen Stretavski, Jr., and Mary Lu Burkett.

Helen Brulja, age 92 of McKeesport, passed away on Wednesday, May 1, 2019 in Southwestern Assisted Care Center in West Mifflin.  Born December 1, 1926 in McKeesport, she was a daughter of the late Frank and Mary (Ljubic) Brulja.  A member of St. Mark's Parish in Port Vue, Helen worked as a clerk for the Westinghouse Corp., was a member of the CFU Lodge #146 and it's Ladies' and Pensioneers' Clubs, and was also an original member of the Penn-Sembles.  She is survived by nieces and nephews, but was preceded in death by her siblings: Kathern Brulja, Frances Sopko, Ann Bastasic, Mary Sipkovich, and Matt, Bruce, and William Brulja.  Friends will be received in the Daniel F. Bekavac Funeral Home and Crematory, 4504 Walnut Street, Versailles, on Sunday, May 5, 2019 from 6 to 8 PM.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, May 6, 2019 at 10 AM in St. Mark's Parish, Port Vue Site.  Interment will follow to Sacred Heart Cemetery, Port Vue. Weldon, age 82 of Versailles, passed away on Thursday, May 2, 2019 in UPMC Presbyterian Hospital.  Born March 4, 1937 in Philadelphia, he was a son of the late James C. and Marie (Weber) Weldon.  Edwin worked as a salesclerk at Sears at South Hills Village; he was a member of St. Patrick's Church in McKeesport; a US Air Force Veteran of the Korean War; and a member of both the Versailles and Lester V.F.C.

Carol Ann Lasich, age 79 of Clairton, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 30, 2019.  Born November 19, 1939 in McKeesport, she was a daughter of the late Carmine and Mildred (Vuksic) Rodino.  A graduate of Clairton High School and a member of St. Clare of Assisi Parish, Carol's family will remember her as the kindest, gentlest woman and an amazing mother, a fantastic grandmother to her granddaughter, but "GiGi" to many more.  Besides her parents, she joins her husband of 46 years, Robert M. Lasich, who passed away July 2, 2011.  Carol is survived by her children Lori Lasich of Rostraver Twp. and Robert (fiancee Kate E. Dadum) Lasich of Clairton; her granddaughter Isabella Patch; her sister Irene Plesniak of Elizabeth; and also nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.

Thelma Jean Smitley, age 79, of Elizabeth, passed away on Saturday, April 27, 2019 at William Penn Care Center in Jeannette. A retired caretaker at Mount Vernon of Elizabeth, she enjoyed bowling, bingo, puzzles and crosswords. She also enjoyed baking zucchini bread, Christmas cookies and her famous pineapple cookies and distributing them to residents at the nursing home.

An active member of Central Highlands Community United Methodist Church in Elizabeth Twp., she was a former 50-year member of the Elizabeth Women's Club and loved bowling, playing cards, traveling, and spending time with grandchildren.

Mary Ellen Skop, 64, of Clairton, passed away on Saturday, April 20, 2019 at UPMC Presbyterian. She received her B.A. in Education from St. Francis College in 1974 and was a teacher at Brightside Academy and the Clairton School District for many wonderful years. She would often encounter former students who always approached her with enthusiasm. An avid member of St. Clare of Assisi Parish in Clairton, Mary had a very strong relationship with God and often reflected on scripture and its application to life. She loved to read both classics and new aged material, preferring to touch the pages rather than use a Kindle. She was known for her quick wit in conversation and ability to make strangers new-found friends. She was a fierce card player and had an exclusive group that met to play at her house on Sundays. She enjoyed decorating for all holidays and often changed her table arrangement in her dining room to match any occasion.

Anne Bretcko Kmetz, age 95, of Sewickley, formerly of Clairton, PA, passed away on Thursday, April 18, 2019.She was born April 14, 1924, in Clairton, to the late John and Mary (Kuzma) Bretcko. Anne was a lifelong resident of Clairton until her move to Sewickley.  Anne was a 1942 graduate of Clairton High School. She worked as a telephone operator for Bell Telephone and as a merchandise buyer for Skapik’s Department Store in Clairton. She was a member of St. Clare of Assisi Parish in Clairton.  Anne is predeceased by her husband Andrew A. Kmetz, her son Andrew and daughter Carol Kmetz. She is survived by her daughters Monica Kmetz Cochran (Terry), Andrea Kmetz-Sheehy (Bob), and Tracy Kmetz; her grandchildren Scott Cochran (Kirsten), Christopher Cochran, Caroline Cochran, Elizabeth Sheehy and Jack Sheehy; great-grandchildren Austin, Brooke, and Cameron Cochran; nieces and nephews.

Pauline (Logo) Kendall, age 90 of the Wilson section of Clairton, passed away on Thursday, April 18, 2019 in HCR ManorCare Whitehall.  Born August 27, 1928 in Coal Valley in Jefferson Hills, she was a daughter of the late George and Annie (Tatos) Logo.  A member of the First Presbyterian Church of Clairton, Pauline worked as a waitress at the Golden Gate Restaurant and ran the former Christina's Spaghetti House in Clairton.  She joins her husband, the late Abraham Kendall, and her siblings Mary Evanko, Ann Ulackovick, Julie Trasp, and Basil and John Logo.
