Nicholas Stiliha, 97, of West Palm Beach, Florida, passed peacefully on Friday, January 24, 2020 at the VA hospital in West Palm Beach, Florida. He lived all of his life in Duquesne, PA. He was born in Duquesne, PA on February 18, 1922 and was the son of Stephen Stiliha and Mary Miklos Stiliha.
He graduated from Duquesne High School in 1940. He worked in various jobs before he served in the US Navy from 1941-1945 during World War II. He was involved in the bombing of Pearl Harbor during the war.
Upon being honorably discharged in 1945 from the US Navy, he began his career at Westinghouse Electric Corporation in East Pittsburgh, PA as a supervisor of tool and die department he also obtained his associate degree in engineering at Carnegie Mellon. He worked for over 40 years, retiring in 1985.
He was a member of the former St. Mary’s Byzantine Catholic Church in Duquesne, PA. and the St. Elias Catholic Church in Munhall, PA He was involved in several organizations in his church and community. He loved to bowl and was involved in several bowling leagues besides going to Delaware beaches in the summer. He loved watching the Pittsburgh Steelers, the Pittsburgh Pirates, Pitt, and Penn State play.

Richard P. Moran, 81, of Scottdale, Arizona, formerly of Duquesne, died unexpectantly at home on Monday, January 6, 2020. Born in Duquesne on July 17, 1938, he was the son of the late John P. and Anna (Matura) Moran. Mr. Moran was a retired Duquesne School teacher and coached Basketball at Duquesne High School for 16 years, compiling an impressive 273-156 record.
He won 6 WPIAL Championships, 2 PIAA State Championships and 8 section championships. Under Rich's tutelage, 5 of his players reached the prestigious 1000 point club. Rich won numerous Pittsburgh Post Gazette, Pittsburgh Tribune-Review and McKeesport Daily News Coach of the Year awards.
He was also a former member of Holy Trinity Roman Catholic Church in West Mifflin.

Rev. Joseph R. Grosko, 87, past away peacefully on January 6, 2020 in Marian Manor Personal Care Home in Pittsburgh. Born in Braddock, March 27, 1932, he was the son of the late Andrew and Susan Grosko. He is survived by three sisters: Ann Pavlan, Elizabeth Rittenberger, and Julie Zuger, also many nieces and nephews. Besides his parents he was also preceded in death by two brothers; Andrew and John Grosko, and two sisters; Margaret Baker and Angie Neary.
Rev. Grosko was a proud Veteran of the Vietnam War were he served as a Navy Chaplain.

Born January 22, 1969, in Pittsburgh, he was the son of James and Beatrice (Homoki) DeFrancesco. Milan Samudosky, 87, of West Mifflin, fell asleep in the Lord on Tuesday, October 29, 2019, in Jefferson Regional Medical Center. Born in Czechoslovakia, March 16, 1932, he was the son of the late Michael and Anna (Vasko) Samudovsky. Mr. Samudosky was a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Byzantine Catholic Church, Duquesne; a retired equipment operator of the former Continental Can Corporation, West Mifflin; and a proud U. S. Army veteran of the Korean Conflict. An Avid fisherman, Mr. Samudosky also ran a Fishing Charter on Lake Erie. He is survived by three sons, Gary Samudosky, John (Pamela) Samudosky, and Vincent Samudosky; three grandchildren, Brittany ad Corey Samudosky and Julianne Moore; three great grandchildren, Archer, Theodore and Ruby. Mr Samudosky was also preceded in death by a brother Michael Samudosky.

Timothy R. "Dr. Rock" Beal Sr., 64, of Forward Twp., died peacefully at home on Sunday, October 27, 2019, surrounded by his loving family. Born on August 17, 1955, in McKeesport, he was the son of the late George A. and Elizabeth (Lopota) Beal. Mr. Beal was a member of Christ the Light of the World Parish, Duquesne, and a retired Maintenance Department employee of the former Duquesne Works, U.S. Steel Corporation. He was also a former organist and drummer of Christ Lutheran Church in Duquesne, owner of Sharon's Pizza Shop in Duquesne, and was happiest when he was disc jockeying at weddings and parties.
