Joseph Robert “Bob” Sholder, 73, of North Huntingdon, passed away on Saturday, June 10, 2023. He was born October 12, 1949 in Turtle Creek, a son of the late Lawrence and Violet (Caldarelli) Sholder. Bob was a Navy veteran, retired from Union Railroad, Pittsburgh, and he was an avid golfer. He is survived by his wife Betty (Peluso) Sholder; children Michelle (Jim) Klingensmith of South Park, and Brian (Karen) Sholder of South Park; grandchildren Samantha and Conner Klingensmith, and Joshua and Alyssa Sholder. Genevieve S. Yuna, age 100, of North Versailles, died July 24, 2023, at Walden's View of North Huntingdon.  Born June 27, 1923, in McKeesport, she was the daughter of the late Wasil and Anna (Misczycha) Smolinsky and wife of the late Andrew Yuna.  Genevieve worked in the home office for the G.C. Murphy Company for over 40 years.  She was a member of the St. John the Baptist Ukrainian Catholic Church and also a "pirohi pincher."  Genevieve loved all Pittsburgh sports, was a season ticket holder for the Steelers, and attended three Super Bowls.  She had a passion for bingo, and casinos were a close second.  Genevieve always felt very blessed and was a lucky lady.

Michael James “Mike” Gouker, 46 of West Mifflin, formerly of Clairton, passed away on Monday, July 24, 2023 at UPMC McKeesport Hospital. He was born in Morgantown, West Virginia on July 8, 1977 to the late Kenneth Gouker and the surviving Deborah (Boyd Gouker) Gecan. He is survived by his wife of 9 years, Beth Boyles Gouker, mother Deborah (Boyd Gouker) Gecan, step-father Dale Gecan, children Jacob and Emma Gouker of Glassport, brother Brian Gouker, of South Carolina, niece Kayla Gouker, of South Carolina, aunt Beverly Gouker, of Elizabeth, uncle Harold Gouker, of Elizabeth, in-laws James and Glenna Boyles, of Indianapolis, Indiana, best friend and adopted brother, Chadd Augustine, of West Mifflin, and his loving cats, Bear, Shadow, Dexter and Cash. Mike was preceded in death by his father, Kenneth Gouker, and grandmother Margaret Boyd. He was a member of the 46 Club in Wilson, as well as Wilson Presbyterian Church, and was employed in the deli at Shop n’ Save in Century square. Mike was a man that loved his family and he enjoyed going to dances with his daughter, going fishing with his son, and was an avid fan of wrestling.  Arrangements have been entrusted to S.M. Kathleen Alice Krausmann, 70, of McKeesport, PA, passed away on July 21, 2023, from natural causes.

Born Kathleen Alice McCarrison on April 6, 1953, she leaves behind her husband, Gary, and her children David, William, Alan, Keith, and Amanda. She is also survived by four grandchildren, one great-grandson, and two daughters-in-law.

Kathy was predeceased by her parents, Dorothy and James, brothers James, Johnathan, and Kenneth, as well as sisters Dolly and Patricia.

Kathy was born in Pittsburgh, PA, and lived her entire life in the Pittsburgh area. A devoted mother, wife, sister, grandmother, and great-grandmother, she remained the cornerstone of the family until her passing.

Patricia Ejchost DiMarco of Whitehall passed away peacefully on July 24, 2023, at age 87. She is survived by her son, Rev. Anthony J. DiMarco of New London, CT; her daughter, Susan Hartman of Whitehall; and her sisters Rita Cross, Elaine (James) Sydeski, and Nancy (James) Feltz. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Keri, Jordan and Marshall Hartman as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 67 years, Fiore DiMarco; her parents, Stanley and Nellie Ejchost; her sister Evelyn Podkul; and her brothers-in-law Walter Cross and Walter Podkul. Patricia was born in Glassport, graduated from Glassport High School, and retired from the federal government. A true trailblazer, she completed a bachelor’s degree from the University of Pittsburgh while working full-time and between raising her children and grandchildren. Yet most importantly, she was a caring and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, daughter and friend and one of five matriarchs of her large, tight-knit Polish-American family. She gave widely and generously of her love, her cooking, her wit, her wisdom, and her nurturing spirit. Her life was a blessing to us all, and her passing will leave a large hole in our hearts. We are especially grateful to Doctors Salman Fazal and Amjad Jalil, and to Amber Bussard and the rest of the AHN staff for their patient attention to her health and welfare and for ensuring her comfort in her final days.  Friends recieved at the Wojciechowski Funeral Home, Glassport on Thursday from 8:30 am to 9:30 am.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on July 27 at 10 a.m. at Saints Joachim and Anne, Queen of the Rosary church by her son, Rev. Anthony DiMarco, with burial to follow at New St. Joseph's Cemetery, North Versailles. In lieu of flowers, we ask that donations be made to the Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank.

Joanne Marie Duncan, age 91, of McKeesport, died July 22, 2023, at The Palms at O'Neil. Born November 27, 1931, in McKeesport, she was the daughter of the late John and Harriett (Barger) Duncan. Joanne attended Indiana University of Pennsylvania and then the University of Pittsburgh, where she obtained her Master's degree.  After college, Joanne worked as a second-grade teacher for the West Mifflin School District until her retirement. She was a lifetime member of the McKeesport Presbyterian Church and taught Sunday school. After church on Sundays, Joanne would always watch the Steelers games, and she was also a Pirates fan.  She was an avid bridge player and enjoyed traveling throughout Europe and the States.

Jack was a member of Central Highlands Community United Methodist Church in Elizabeth Township and the USS The Sullivans Destroyer, DD-537 Association. He was a former member of Elizabeth Township Senior Citizens. Jack was a WWII Navy veteran and had served on the USS The Sullivans Destroyer (DD-537) and the USS Riley (DE-579). For his service, he received the Asiatic Pacific Area Campaign medal with 6 Stars, the America Area Campaign, the Philippine Liberation Campaign medal with 2 Stars and the WWII Victory Medal. Jack grew up in Clairton and had retired from US Steel Clairton Works as a Millwright.

She was a registered nurse for many years, a profession that continued to define her through later career changes. She traveled all over the world and had many stories to tell about her adventures. She loved to read and was extremely crafty - cross stitch, needlework, sewing and crocheting were favorite hobbies. In particular, she cherished memories of making Halloween costumes for her children and grandchildren.

Frances “Indra” Straud Roman, 92, formerly of West Mifflin, died peacefully in her sleep on Sunday, July 23, 2023.  She graduated from Duquesne High School and worked in Homestead Steel Mill where she met and later married her beloved William Roman and raised six children.  At the age of 50, she was certified to teach yoga at CCAC. Her enthusiasm for healthy living fueled her ambition to teach yoga and meditation to as many people as possible. She taught these skills at churches and community centers well into her 70s.  In addition, she was an avid gardener, a lover of movies, creator of home remedies, and the “best grammy ever”. She was the wife of William M. Roman (dec) with whom she was happily married to for 40 years; and the devoted mother of Anna (George), Maureen (Gary), Rosemary, Tara (John), William (Judy), and James (Kathryn). She is also survived by grandchildren Katie (Tom), Alex (Andrew), Mackenzie (Joey), Roman, Lillian, and Mable. She leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and generosity.  She will be greatly missed by family and friends but forever in our hearts. The family wishes to extend gratitude to Bethel Park Skilled Nursing Home for their care and compassion of our mother. Final remembrance for Frances will be private.

Darryl L. Silvis, 62, of Scottdale formerly of N. Huntingdon, passed away Sunday, July 23, 2023 after a four year battle with cancer. He was born June 28, 1961 in Wilkinsburg, son of Jack D. Silvis and the late Sharen Lee (Miller) Silvis.  Darryl was a sales representative/driver for Seaman Wholesale and a DJ.  He was a graduate of Norwin Sr. High School Class of '79 and a member of Wesley Chapel.  Darryl was an avid Pittsburgh sports fan,  firefighter for Circleville VFD for 14 years and enjoyed playing softball.  He is survived by his wife, Corie Silvis; son, Jack T. Silvis and his wife, Lauren; daughters, Melissa Shaffer and her husband, Mike, Leanne Silvis, fiance, Cory Baughman, Taryn Graft and Stephanie Rummel; sister, Laurie Peddicord and her husband, Sam; grandchildren, Arielle (Tyler), Tyler, Abby, Leona, Sage, Jack Jr., Ellie, and Bjorn;  aunt and uncle, Brad and Carol Miller; and his canine companion, Freckles.  Friends will be received Wednesday from 1-3 & 6-8 p.m. at the James W.
