Michael A. Schmidt, 60, of North Huntingdon, passed away Thursday, November 17, 2022 at his home surrounded by family and friends.  He was born April 23, 1962 in McKeesport, a son of the late Elmer and Margaret (Swanson) Ference and was adopted and raised by  the late Henry and Helen (Ference) Schmidt.  Michael was a retired Lt. Colonel of the US Air Force and throughout his life he was successful in the banking industry.  He was a graduate of McKeesport High School Class of 1980 and earned a bachelor’s degree in business  from Robert Morris University.  He was  a  member of Immaculate Conception Church, Irwin, a Pittsburgh sports enthusiast and enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Robert Ference; and sister, Dolores Swauger.  He is survived by his loving wife of 37 years, Virginia "Ginger" (Walsh) Schmidt; sons, Michael and his wife, Lisa; Steven and his fiance, Miranda; sister, Barbara (Gene) Chrise; grandchildren, Landon, Tenley and Brooks; and numerous nieces and nephews.  Friends will be received from 6-8 p.m. Sunday, and 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. Monday at the James W. Shirley Funeral Home, 176 Clay Pike, North Huntingdon, PA  15642.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday at 9:30 a.m. in Immaculate Conception Church, Irwin.  Interment to follow in Mt. Patricia L. "Pat" Morrison

Patricia L. "Pat" Morrison, 87, of White Oak, passed away at home on Wednesday, November 16, 2022 surrounded by family. She was born July 5, 1935 in McKeesport and was the daughter to the late Thomas H. and Nellie M. (Potter) Spence. She attended McKeesport High School and played the Clarinet in the band. She was the wife to the late George C. Morrison III, who passed away on September 24, 2008. Pat and George were High School sweethearts and got married February 8, 1955; they were married 53 years before his passing. Patricia was a dedicated housewife, loving mother, grandmother, an avid reader, and loved all types of animals. She worked for the Mon-Yough Mental Health Institute as a Social Worker but then spent her later years as the Receptionist for the White Oak Veterinary Clinic, and adopted many animals through the years.

She was a daughter of the late Joseph W. Bridges and Audrey Louise (Waldron) Bridges. Lois was a 1982 graduate of Norwin Sr. High School and worked in the mortgage industry for several years. She enjoyed spending summers in Ohiopyle, celebrating every Fourth of July with friends and fireworks and being with her adored cat, Nina. She is preceded in death by her sister, Carol L. Magnus, brother, John Bridges, and her daughter Elena’s father, Edward Koncerak. She is survived by her two daughters, Elena Bridges and Briana McGivern; loving grandchildren, Oliver, Audrey and Gwendolyn; brothers, Joseph and Jim; partner, Mark Johnson; and former husband, Jim McGivern.  Mary T. Giannandrea, 94 of Glassport died Nov. 15, 2022.  She is the daughter of the late Michael and Mary (Marchok) Govola and beloved wife of the late Joseph Giannandrea. She is survived by her daughter Karen (Dennis) Bucy; son Joe (Carol) Giannandrea; grandchildren Denise (Dave) Serena, Jayme (Dennis) Giel, Katie Harrison, Cara Giannandrea, Jodi (Dave Vrbanick) Giannandrea, Joseph Giannandrea and Julia Giannandrea; great grandchildren Dean Viehl, Danielle Viehl, Kylie Giel and Gianna Giel; great great grandson Brayden Viel; also nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by daughter Diane Dunn and brothers Theodore and James Govola and sister Ann Marchok. Mary was a past member of the Ladies St. Cecelia's Duck Pin bowling League; St. Joachim & Anne Parish; Christian Mothers; Rosary Society and was a volunteer at Kane Hospital. Mary and her husband were avid square dancers. The family would like to thank the staff at Grandview Estates for their loving care and the nurses and aids of OSPTA Hospice for their compassionate attention to Moms needs. Friends received Wojciechowski Funeral Home, Glassport on Fri. from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8. A funeral mass will be held Sat. 10:00 am at Queen of the Rosary Church with Father Wojcicki. Interment following Calvary Cemetery.

DiLuca, 95, of Glassport died Nov. 15, 2022.  He is the son of the late Leroy DiLuca and Mary Marrone and beloved husband of Bessie DiLuca and Valene DiLuca.  Justino is survived by his children Donna (Terry) Guadagni of Elizabeth, Leroy (the late Chris) DiLuca of Liberty Boro, Jay (Lori) DiLuca of Leesburg, VA and Robert (Ann) DiLuca of Pittsburgh; grandchildren Nikki (Kevin) Carlson, Robilynn (Cory) Quinn, Bree (Joe) Thompson, Alicia (Matt) DiBernado, Justin (April) Gaudagni, Leah (Stephen) Brody, Lauren DiLuca, Alexandra (John) Rogerson, Taylor DiLuca, Devin DiLuca and Jake DiLuca; 15 great grandchildren; and son in law Robert Stecak.  He was preceded in death by his daughter Cathy Stecak and brother Telesforo DiLuca.  Justino was retired superintendent for ELG Metal and Steel Met.  He was a member of St. Joachim & Anne Parish, Sons of Italy and served in the US Army.  Friends received Wojciechowski Funeral Home, Glassport on Thurs. from 4 to 8.  A funeral mass will be held Fri. 10:00 am at Queen of the Rosary Church. Following church services a wake will be held at the Sons and Daughters of Italy in Glassport.

Robert K. Veres, 78 of Carnegie, formerly of North Versailles Twp., passed away peacefully in his sleep on Friday, November 11, 2022.  He was born September 6, 1944 to the late Frank and Mary Veres.  Raised in North Versailles, he graduated from  Westinghouse Memorial High School in 1962.  Prior to his retirement he worked at US Steel Homestead Works and then Sears Roebuck Co.  He became an entrepreneur and co-founded Trashpac Inc, in Itasca, IL.  He then went on to become founder and president of Line One Communications Inc. 1987, where he spent the remainder of his career intelephone equipment sales.  He was a meticulous organizer and businessman and even opened a storefront in downtown Carnegie.  He served on both the Carlynton School Board and Carnegie Borough Council. He enjoyed working in  the yard, daily walks, and caring for his beloved dog Susie.  He always maintained his sharpe wit and independence.
