Helen M. Spencer, age 86, of Pittsburgh, died on Saturday, December 11, 2021. She was born in Dravosburg on January 25, 1935 and is the daughter of the late Henry and Elizabeth Berwick Cislo. She was a Sunday school teacher at St. John Lutheran Church and worked as a home health aide for many years.

Mark D. Fate, age 57, of McKeesport, died December 10, 2021, at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital. Born September 28, 1964, in Pittsburgh, he was the son of Sandra (Davies) Stanley of Pittsburgh and the late Harold Fate and husband of Susan (Paul) Fate.
Mark worked for TDN Custom Contracting as a painter. He was a proud Poppy who cherished spending time with his grandchildren on the bike trail, hikes at Dead Man's Hollow, and fishing on the river. He was also the neighborhood dad, always willing to lend a hand.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by children, Lexy (David) Handley, of White Oak and Marc (Samantha) Fate, of McKeesport; grandchildren, Mark, Felicity, and Kinleigh Fate; siblings, Harry Fate, of Elizabeth, Larry Fate, of Bethel Park, Angela Sweeny, of Gulfport, FL, and Jennifer Stanley, of Pittsburgh. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Theresa E. Lindsey, 94, of Blairsville, formerly of Buena Vista, passed away Friday, December 10, 2021 at home. She was born July 25, 1925 in Buena Vista and was the daughter of the late Michael and Rosella Tedesco. She was the wife of the late Kenneth E. Lindsey. She is survived by her grandchildren, Lindsey T. (Ryan Keener) Risinger of Blairsville, and Nicholas (Cassie) Risinger of Indiana, and great-grandchildren, Mason and Haylie Risinger. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Linda Lee Risinger, son-in-law, William D. Risinger and grandson, Jeffrey Pittard. Barbara Ann (Howell) Sturni, 70, of Elizabeth Township, passed away Saturday, December 11, 2021. She was born July 17, 1951 in McKeesport and was the daughter of Dorothy (Carpenter) Howell of Elizabeth Township and the late Herbert Kees Howell who passed away September 30, 2017. She was the wife of the late Wade Rader Sturni who passed away August 10, 2009. Edwin E. Jenkins, 82, of Boston, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, December 11, 2021. He was born April 1, 1939 in McKeesport and was the son of the late Russell and Ellen (Gilmore) Jenkins. He was a member of Mount Vernon Community Presbyterian Church and was retired from US Steel Irvin Works after 35 years of service. Ed was an avid sports fan. He loved the Steelers, Penn State football and Pitt football. He coached youth baseball and basketball and enjoyed watching his children and grandchildren playing sports. He loved camping with his family and driving his "57" Chevy.

Santeaun Nicholas “Sant” Sims, 26 of Forest Hills, formerly of Clairton, passed away on Saturday, December 11, 2021, at his home. He was born on June 16, 1995, in Pittsburgh to Claude S. and Michele R. Sims of McKeesport. Sant is survived by his brothers Xavier (Jasmine) Means of Clairton, C.J. Sims of McKeesport, and Diego Sims of McKeesport. He is further survived by sisters Courtney Sims of Clarksburg, Maryland, Claudia Sims of McKeesport, Lennox (Garrett) King of Greenbelt, Maryland, and his twin Hunter (Kim) Jones-Sims of Forest Hills. He is also survived by his paternal grandparents Dolores Sledge and Calvin and Violet Sims and aunts Valerie Pavlick-Gnazzo and Adrianne Miller. Further survivors include many nieces and nephews, by whom he will be greatly missed. He also leaves behind his girlfriend Iyannah Grant and her daughter Isla. Santeaun was preceded in death by his sister BreAnne as well as his grandparents Delbert and Edith Pavlick. He was a member of the Union Carpenters Local 432. He owned Sant Sims Contracting and worked as a carpenter, where he filled the role of the handyman who could do anything. He enjoyed playing flag football, poker, Playstation, cornhole, and participating in all types of athletics, including but not limited to baseball, basketball, diving, swimming, and track. As a 2013 graduate of Clairton High School, he leaves behind many close friends, teammates, and family members. Family and friends will be received on Thursday, December 16, 2021, from 2-8 p.m. at S.M. FINNEY FUNERAL HOME, 432 N. 6th St, Clairton, PA 15025. A service will take place at the funeral home at 8 p.m. A committal service as well as entombment will occur at 10 a.m. Friday, December 17, 2021, at Lebanon Church Cemetery. Margaret Gamrat, 90, of N. Huntingdon, passed away Sunday, December 12, 2021 at Jefferson Hospital, Pittsburgh. She was born July 29, 1931 in Munhall, a daughter of the late John and Anna (Kachmaris) Belan. Prior to her retirement, Margaret was a payroll clerk for Kennywood Park, a member of St. Agnes Parish and she enjoyed playing cards. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Gamrat; son, Edward Gamrat, and brother, John Belan. She is survived by her son, David Gamrat; daughter, Alberta Mamrose; six grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great-grandchildren. Friends will be received from 4-8 p.m. on Tuesday at the James W. Shirley Funeral Home, 176 Clay Pike, North Huntingdon, PA 15642. Sophie J. Ferenac, age 96 of Greenock, passed away at home on Saturday, December 11, 2021. Born March 7, 1925 in McKeesport, she was a daughter of the late Frank and Rose (Ziemianski) Novak. Sophia was a billing supervisor for Tube City, Inc. in Glassport. She is survived by her nephew Richard (Diane) Tomkowitz of Boston, PA, and several cousins. Sophie was preceded in death by her husband Joseph Ferenac, who passed away April 27, 2016, and her brothers Louis and Anthony Novak.

Helen Wakefield, 97, of Lincoln Boro, passed away Thursday, December 9, 2021. She was born September 3, 1924 in Pittsburgh and was the daughter of the late Bales M. and Flora I. (McCracken) Marks. She was the wife of the late Theodore Wakefield who passed away March 6, 1997. She graduated from McKeesport High School on Tuesday, June 2, 1942. She and Theodore were married on Sunday, June 7, 1942. They were married for 54 years. Helen was a member of the First Christian Church, McKeesport where she also played the Piano for their services for the past twenty years until 2 weeks ago. She taught voice lessons and was also former Choir Director at the former Immanuel Presbyterian Church and St. Eugene Parish. She was a member of the former Liberty Borough Welcome Wagon Committee, the McKeesport YWCA, the Liberty Borough Mother's Club, the McKeesport Choraliers and the McKeesport Music Club where she was on the Scholarship Committee. She also belonged to various card clubs until 2019. In addition to being a homemaker, she taught Voice Lessons and was a Soloist at many area churches including Central Presbyterian Church and Immanuel Presbyterian Church.

Douglas (DOUG) F. Goffus passed away on December 9th, 2021 . He was 72 years old. Born September 4, 1949 in McKeesport Hospital, he was the son of the late Fred and Jean (McCartney) Goffus. He is survived by sister Beverly Goffus and brother Arthur Goffus (Elishia) nieces, Heather Karalagas (Dimitrius), Savanah and Sophia Goffus, nephews, Landen Medved, Zander and Xavier Karalagas, as well as many wonderful friends that he cherished. He was preceded in death by brother-in-law, Richard B. Smith, IV in 2020 and also by his grandparents, Arthur and Wanda Holmes McCartney and Michael and Anna Andres Goffus. He was raised in Port Vue and attended the former Romine School, Meyer Ave. School and South Allegheny High School. Doug was among the first graduating class of South Allegheny in 1967. He took an interest in Audio-Visual work during his upper elementary and high school days. He worked during high school as part of the Distributive Education Program at Ruben’s Furniture Store in McKeesport, J. C. Penny Store at the Eastland Shopping Center/Mall and Thom McCann Shoe Store in McKeesport before acquiring a job as a Film Inspector at the U. S. Bureau Of Mines on Forbes Ave. in the Oakland section of Pittsburgh in the Fall of 1967. Doug worked there until he enlisted in the U. S. Navy July 1969 through July 1973. During his Navy time, he worked at the Naval Security Station in Washington, DC for over 2 years and the Naval Communication Station on the island of Guam for over a year and was a Disc Jockey for American Forces Radio on the island during his stay. Upon his discharge in 1973, Doug returned to the Bureau Of Mines where he became a film editor and film library supervisor through 1985.
