Anna R. Grygo, 90, of Elizabeth Township, passed away Saturday, September 4, 2021. She was born July 12, 1931 in McKeesport and was the daughter of the late Joseph and Lillian E. (Reitz) Krutz. She retired from Chubb and Son Group Insurance Company as an Internal Auditor. She is survived by her husband, Thomas E. Grygo, daughter, Dr. Patricia A. (John Hogan) Jameson of Pittsburgh, brother, Paul (Carmella) Krutz of Greenock, grandsons, Robert T. Jameson and Thomas S. Jameson, and nephews, Vennie (Terry) Krutz and J. Anthony (Suzanne) Curcio. She was preceded in death by her grandson, Joseph Jameson who passed away August 9, 2016. There is no visitation. Mary Jane Byers, 91, of North Huntingdon, passed away Monday, September 6, 2021 at Walden's View, North Huntingdon. She was born, January 12, 1930 in McKeesport, a daughter of the late Lloyd and Emma (Volk) Thomas. Mary Jane was a member of the Ridge Runners Trailer Club and enjoyed camping and crafting. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Earl R. Byers Jr.; son, David N. Byers; and daughter, Donna Baker. Virginia (Perich) Pekala, age 100 of Clairton, passed away peacefully in her sleep in the John J. Kane Regional Center, McKeesport. Born March 24, 1921 in Munhall, she was a daughter of the late Louis and Anna (Tomas) Perich. Prior to having children, Virginia worked as a secretary for US Steel National Tube Works in Christy Park. Virginia was a member of Triumph of the Holy Cross Parish, St. Clare of Assisi Church and a woman of great faith, who dutifully prayed her rosary daily. She also enjoyed playing the slot machines at the casino. Besides her parents, Virginia was preceded in death by her husband Elmer J. Pekala, who passed away in November of 1999, and her siblings Mary Matesic, Mildred Dobrick, Olga Kensky, and John and Anthony Perich. Robert W. “Rob” Fleckenstein, age 44, of McKeesport, passed away on September 5, 2021 at Forbes Regional Hospital. Beloved son of Wayne and Mary (Hock) Fleckenstein of McKeesport, Rob was born in McKeesport on February 6, 1977. He was a retired salesman and a former priest of the Diocese of Pittsburgh. He was a graduate of Serra Catholic High School in 1995, Indiana University of Pennsylvania and St. Vincent Seminary in 2010 with two masters degrees in Divinity and Philosophy. He enjoy playing, listening to and composing music and was involved with the Pittsburgh Cursillo Movement. He was born in Port Vue on September 5, 1925 and is the son of the late Kathryn Cverna Kish and the husband of the late Helen Yaga Kish, married 64 years, who passed away on January 2, 2016. Joseph was a sergeant in the United States Marine Corps, serving in the South Pacific during World War II. He retired from Bethlehem Steel Co as a draftsman, and then formed his own company in Forest Hills. Michael F. Kovacevic, age 69 of Beaver Falls and formerly of Glassport, passed away on Friday, September 3, 2021 in UPMC Passavant. Born February 4, 1952 in McKeesport, he was the son of the late Michael J. and Edna (Pehl) Kovacevic. A graduate of Geneva College with a bachelor's degree in biology and recipient of an associate's degree in industrial engineering, Michael worked as an industrial engineering manager, plant manager, and consultant with Babcock and Wilcox in Beaver Falls, Keystone Windows in New Castle, and others. He was a member of St. Stephen's Anglican Church of Sewickley and a former president and vice president of the local chapter of the AIIE. In his spare time, Michael was an avid reader, especially history and sci-fi, a fisherman, and an outdoor lover. Most of all though, he was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. Michael is survived by his wife of 47 years Pamela Kovacevic; his children Col. Michael (Joy) Kovacevic of Ft. Myer, VA and Rachel (Todd) Balog of Honolulu, HI; and his grandchildren Michael and Nathan Kovacevic and Kaitlin, Kierstin, Kenzie, and Paul Balog.
