Stanford Alan Lefkowitz, age 88 of White Oak, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 5, 2019 surrounded by his loving family. He was born In McKeesport on June 23, 1931 and is the son of the late Carl and Rose Lichenstein Lefkowitz. Stan was the beloved owner of Penn Taft Pharmacy which has cared for generations of West Mifflin residents for the last 70 years. A graduate of the University of Pittsburgh in Accounting and Duquesne University in Pharmacy, Mr. Lefkowitz also served the nation as a Navy Corpsman for the US Marines. He was the Alumni of the decade for Duquesne University, President of the Allegheny County Pharmaceutical Association, Proctor for Interns for Pharmacy School for hundreds of pharmacy students, and sponsored scores of little league baseball teams. Stan was very involved in the community. Stan Lefkowitz was kind and compassionate - loved by everyone who knew him and always left folks feeling encouraged and better about themselves.

Sharon Marie Burnett, age 55, of McKeesport, died November 4, 2019, at home. Born June 12, 1964, in McKeesport, she was the daughter of Robert J. and Marcia (McAllister) Burnett and the late Alberta "Bert" (Randic) Burnett.
Sharon was a member of St. Angela Merici Church. She loved all dogs, especially her loyal Lab and best friend, "Cameron."

Leonard “Leo” Joseph Puma, age 94, of McKeesport and West Palm Beach, Florida, died Sunday, November 3, 2019. He was born in Lorain, Ohio on March 18, 1925 and is the son of the late Samuel and Rose Marino Puma. He served in the U.S. Navy during WW II and received honors for his service. He was a member of St. Patrick Church in McKeesport. He was a retired member of Iron Workers Local #3 for 71 years and was elected and served as President for 12 years. He then was the Business Manager for the Pittsburgh Building Trades for the following 12 years. He was an accomplished Union Rights activist and devoted much of his life to the cause. After retirement, he was a PA State Constable. He was a member of the former McKeesport Elks Club, the Eleventh Ward Club, the Italian Heritage Society, the Renzie Seniors and the White Oak American Legion.

Jay M. Medved, age 50 of Port Vue, passed away at home on Saturday, November 2, 2019. Born August 13, 1969 in McKeesport, he is a son of Jane (Gathoffs) Tabra of Hilo, HI and the late Richard E. Medved. A graduate of Robert Morris University with a bachelor's degree in accounting, Jay was a retiree of the Pennsylvania Army National Guard and US Army Veteran of Operation Iraqi Freedom. He was also a member of the American Legion, Glassport, the Clairton VFW #803, and the Liberty Borough Veterans Group.

Donald J. Weiler, age 87 of Versailles, passed away on Sunday, November 3, 2019 in The Palms at O'Neill, McKeesport. Born June 20, 1932 in Pittsburgh, he was a son of the late Albert and Freda (Schitzen) Weiler. A retired payroll auditor for General Motors' Fisher Body Plant in West Mifflin, Donald was a US Navy Veteran of the Korean War, serving on the USS Wisconsin.

Donald Mitchell, age 75, of Mckeesport, PA, died November 2, 2019, at St Clair Hospital. Born September 13, 1944, in Braddock, PA, he was the son of the late Robert and Dorothy (Yancey) Mitchell and the husband of the late Katherine (Greer) Mitchell.
Donald enjoyed weight-lifting, training in the gym, and was a collector of firearms. He loved his grandchildren dearly.

Robert “Bob” L. Hite, age 88, of North Versailles, passed away Saturday, November 2, 2019. He was born March 26, 1931 in East Pittsburgh, a son of the late John and Edna Hite. He was a long time member of Linway Presbyterian Church in North Versailles. He was an Army veteran that served in the Korean War before working in management for over 30 years for U.S. Steel in the National Tube Hot Mill before retiring.

Lowell E. Gregg, of Glassport died November 3, 2019. He is the son of the late Floyd and Doris (Sharpneck) Gregg. He is survived by his beloved wife Carol; daughters Doris (Anthony) Haywood of Mckeesport and Tammy (Daniel) List of White Oak; sons Brian (Jennifer) Gregg of Glassport and David (Heather) Gregg of Glassport; grandchildren Anthony Jr., Brian Jr., Sara, Olivia, and David Jr.; and great-grandchild Sophia. He was preceded in death by his son Wayne. Lowell worked for U.S. Steel and drove for Access for many years. He was past a member of the Elizabeth Boro Fire Dept. and also a lifetime member of the Glassport Citizen's Hose Co. #1. Friends received Wednesday 2-4 and 6-8 at the Wojciechowski Funeral Home, Glassport. A service will be held at 7pm by the Glassport Fire Department.

Root and also preceded in death by his brother Ruel D. Root. Prior to retirement he was a salesperson for Labuda Farm Services, Hermine. Ken was a motorcycle enthusiast, collector of model trains, and enjoyed listening to country music.
