Robert Murtha, age 90 of Elizabeth Twp., passed away on Friday, April 2, 2021 in Point Pleasant Retirement Community, North Versailles.  Born January 13, 1931 in Dravosburg, he was a son of the late John and Marie (Striegel) Murtha.  A US Navy Veteran of the Korean War, Robert was the proprietor of Murtha Trucking, Inc. and a former millwright for US Steel.  Robert was the past president of the Elizabeth Twp. Lions Club and a member of the White Oak American Legion, the Sutersville Moose, W.I.M.B.U. of Blythedale, and the Elizabeth Twp. Seniors.  He was also a volunteer for Meals on Wheels.  Besides his parents, Robert was preceded in death by his wife Shirley A. (Welty) Murtha, who passed away May 9, 2015, and his brothers Louis, Kenneth, and William Murtha.  He is survived by his children Karalee (John) Carr of Hollywood, FL and Robert J. Murtha of Mt. Pleasant; his grandchildren Meagan Knapp, John D. (Alexa) Sutton, Austin (Tricia) Murtha, and Trevor and Louis Calderon; his great-grandchildren Brooklyn Knapp, Bianca, Riley, and Austin Murtha, and Olivia and Roman Calderon; his siblings Joseph Glenn (Darlene) Murtha of Houston, TX, Timothy Ronald (Lita) Murtha of Bradenton, FL, June (the late James) Andrews of Elizabeth Twp., and James (Jackie) Murtha of Elizabeth Twp.; and many nieces and nephews.

John L. "Critch" Critchfield, age 72, of Belle Vernon, formerly of Clairton, passed away on Friday, April 2, 2021 at home. He retired after 35 years as an operator for Eastman Chemical in West Elizabeth. An Army veteran, he was a member of New Hope Assembly of God Church in Elizabeth Twp. where he was a member of the praise team for the past 16 years. Music was John's life — he was also a member of the praise team with Greater Works Church, he composed music, and collected guitars. Born December 28, 1948 in McKeesport, he was a son of the late Lawrence and Ellener (Edwards) Critchfield. He is survived by his wife of 16 years, Sue L. (Borreggine) Critchfield; daughter, April Star Critchfield of Denver, CO; son, Seth (Ashley) Critchfield of North Huntingdon; grandchildren, Brooke, Dillon and Autumn Critchfield; stepdaughter, Bonnie (Dean) Pioveson; stepsons, Eric Castor and Jason Knowles; step-grandchildren, Naomi, Noah, Cheyenne, Chasity, Sean, Nevaeh, Damian and JJ; former wife, Marlene; in-laws; also, nieces, nephews and cousins. Timothy Edwin Mays, age 70 of McKeesport, passed away on Wednesday, March 31, 2021 at the Pittsburgh VA Medical Center.  Born November 12, 1950 in McKeesport, he was a son of the late Edwin and Mildred (Cummins) Mays. He worked as a self employed hauler and demolition man, served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War, and was a member of Park Baptist Church in Versailles.  Timothy was preceded in death by his wife Mary E. (Ainsworth) Mays, who passed away July 8, 2011. He is survived by his son Raymond (Jamie) Mays of Glassport; grandchildren Michael, Katelyn, Cameron, Shane & Madison Mays and Brittney Richie; great-grandson Jeremiah Richie; sisters Deborah (Roger) Trimpey of Buena Vista, Linda (Joe) Trumbauer of Allentown, Roberta (George Oatman) Mays of Greenock, and Lori King of Buena Vista; and also nieces and nephews. Harold E. "Bud" Yarris, Jr., age 74, of Floreffe and formerly of Uniontown passed away on Thursday, March 25, 2021 at Jefferson Hospital. He was a Tool and Die Maker for Fisher Body in West Mifflin. He was a Navy veteran serving during Vietnam War and a member of the American Legion Post 8 in Everett, PA.  Born December 1, 1946 in Uniontown, PA, he was a son of the late Harold E. Yarris, Sr. and Doris (Murray) Yarris. He is survived by his daughters Valarie Becker of Pleasant Hills and Susan Reid of Tampa Bay, FL; grandchildren Sheri, Brandi, Sydney, Seth, Matthew, Tim and Julianna; great grandchildren Shania, Nijia, Nakiya, Chrisanna, and Kyran; and great great granddaughter, Raelyn; sisters Judy (Dave) Sible of Gaithersburg, MD, Raedel (Dave) Ringer of Concord, NC,  Jane (Scott) Gillespie of Coplay, PA and brother, James  (Kathy) Yarris of Cranberry, PA. In addition to his wife Constance “Connie” (Simmen) Yarris who passed away in August, 2020 and parents he was preceded in death by granddaughter, Jessica and Son, John Yarris.

She was a former manager at Gale Trucking in Elizabeth, a former coach at Dish Network in McKeesport, and a former member of Blaine Hill Fire Hall. Born August 26, 1947 in Clairton, she was a daughter of the late Russell and Annie (Halt) Crookham. She is survived by her husband of 26 years, Garner G.  Heath; sons, Harry "Butch" Serena of Elizabeth Twp., Earl (Lynn) Rothey of Madison and Brian Rothey of Charleston, SC; stepdaughters, Garnet (Tom) Sevcik of Elizabeth Twp. and  Patty (Chris) Kraemer of Moon Twp.; granddaughter, Samantha (John) Walker of Port Vue; sisters, Mary Ann (Bert) Morey of Texas and Faith Murphy of Elizabeth Twp.; stepbrother, Albert DiVirgilio of Elizabeth Twp.; stepsister, Denise Pellegrino of Clairton; also, nieces and nephews. Born October 19, 1930 in McKeesport, she was a daughter of the late John and Mary (McGinty) McAraw. She worked as a secretary for Firth-Sterling Steel Co. in McKeesport, PA for many years, was a member of St. Clare of Assisi Parish in Clairton, and a former member of St. Paulinus Church in Clairton, where she served as a secretary. She loved going to the Twinsburg Festival in Ohio with her twin sister Ella and her greatest comfort was walking through the Holy Doors of the Vatican in Rome.

She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ in Monongahela where she was ordained as a deaconist in 1967. She attended Dunbar Twp. High School. Born February 19, 1931 in Bitner, she was a daughter of the late Arthur and Edith P. (Stull) Nicklow and wife of the late Lawrence C.  Lenhart. She was a loving mother to Deborah L. (the late Ronald) Albeck of Boston and the late Robert L. Lenhart; grandson, Timothy Lenhart of Altoona; brother, Robert D. (Pamela) Nicklow Sr. of Forward Twp.; her puppy Molly; also, nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, husband and son, she was preceded in death by brothers, Raymond, Harry, Donald and Melvin Nicklow. Friends will be received in the Paul E. Bekavac Funeral Home, 221 North Second Avenue, Elizabeth on Friday, March 26, 2021 from 2-4 and 6-8 PM. She was a member of St. Eugene Church in Liberty Boro and would work as a secretary for the family business. He worked as a Loan Officer at PNC Bank in Pittsburgh, a Travel Agent for American Express, was a former Democratic Committee Planner, a Partner in Sera-Tech Biologicals in Oakland, and was a licensed funeral director in the Pittsburgh area. Robert was a member of the Sixth Presbyterian Church in Pittsburgh, Pittsburgh Mediation Society, and took part in the Presbyterian Peace Keeping Mission.

Samuel V. Milice, age 88 of Liberty Borough, passed away peacefully in his sleep and surrounded by his family on Sunday, March 21, 2021 in UPMC McKeesport. 

Born September 30, 1932 in McKeesport, he was a son of the late Anthony and Mary (Campo) Milice and husband of 67 years of the love of his life, the late Norma Jean (Miller) Milice, who passed away May 23, 2020.  A US Army Veteran of the Korean War, Samuel was a member of Sts. Joachim and Anne Parish in Liberty Borough and retired after 30 years as postmaster at the McKeesport Post Office.

In his spare time, Samuel enjoyed duck pin bowling at the lanes in Glassport, rooting on the hometown Pittsburgh sports teams, and was a member of the Lions Club, the Natl. Assoc. of Postmasters, the Nat. Assoc. of Retired Federal Employees, the Liberty Borough Veterans, the Croatian Club #146, the Sons of Italy in Glassport.  Most of all, Samuel loved to spend time with his family.  

He is survived by his children Samuel Anthony (Christine) Milice, Cheryl (David) Dujmic, and Debbie (Greg) Swank; his  grandchildren Nicole (Michael) Hetrick, Shaun (Alecia) Johnston, Samuel (Jennifer) Johnston, Alexi (Brandon) Darr, and Chelsi and Aubri Swank; his great-grandchildren Samantha Hetrick, Micah Hetrick, and Madison Johnston; his sister Nancy Porecco of Colorado Springs, CO; and also nieces and nephews.  Besides his parents and wife, Samuel was preceded in death by his brother Jerry Milici.

She is survived by her husband, Roderick P. Sullivan; sons, George (Cynthia) Ocilka of Boiling Springs, SC, David (Lynn) Ocilka of Chester Springs and John (Angie) Ocilka of Elizabeth Twp.; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; sister, Mary Ann Stash of Waynesburg; also, nieces and nephews.
