He was an emeritus professor of Physics and Astronomy after more than 33 years of teaching at West Liberty State College in West Liberty, WV. A former member of Elizabeth United Methodist Church, he was a graduate of Elizabeth Forward High School, Washington & Jefferson College and West Virginia University. He was a consultant for Prentice Hall Publishing Company and was twice recognized as an outstanding educator of America. He was a member of the American Association of Physics Teachers, American Institute of Physics, Delta Chi Social Fraternity, Chi Beta Phi, and AARP.

She retired as a clerk for Pennsylvania American Water Company in Elizabeth. She was a member of Dormition of the Blessed Virgin Mary Russian Orthodox Church in McKeesport where she taught Religious Education for 65 years, receiving special recognition from the bishop for her years of service. A former clerk at the Glass House in Glassport, she was an avid sports fan and enjoyed bowling and softball.

Born February 22, 1938 in McKeesport, she was a daughter of the late Chester Charneicki Sr. and the late Ann (Ulich) Charneicki and wife of the late Larry John Hill. She is survived by sister, Betty Lou Gasda of Liberty Borough; brother, Chester (Michele) Charneicki Jr. of Elizabeth; also, nieces and nephews. There was no visitation or service. He was a former baseball and football coach for the Elizabeth Forward, Clairton and West Jefferson Hills school districts. An avid polka lover, he especially enjoyed traveling with Ray J and the Carousels. He was a member of Blaine Hill Volunteer Fire Co. and Stephen Bayard Masonic Lodge 526, and enjoyed traveling and took many cruises. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and attending their events.

An avid reader, she devoted her retirement years to the Clairton Public Library, surrounded by her love of books. For more than 50 years, Virginia enjoyed playing cards with her card club group. She was known to be extremely kind, compassionate and funny.
