Ronald H. Smith, age 72 of Springfield Twp. and formerly of Elizabeth Twp., passed away at home on Tuesday, November 17, 2020. Born May 12, 1948 in McKeesport, he was a son of the late William H. "Herk" and Gladys (Missouri) Smith. Ronald retired from the sales department of Snavely Forest Products. He is survived by his wife Ruth E. (Sellman) Smith; his sons Ronald H. Smith, II of Greensburg and Chad H. (Laura) Smith of Mt. Vernon; his grandchildren Ronald H. III (deceased), Breana, Sage, and Ezra Smith; his great-grandson Tristan Yafchak; his sisters Sandy Kucsmas and Vicki Estok, both of Tuscon, AZ; and also nieces and nephews.

Dennis “Denny” Pascuzzi, 78, died Nov. 11, 2020. Son of the late William and Gloria Pascuzzi Brother of the late Douglas Pascuzzi and David W. Altman, Sr. Dennis is survived by his nephew: David W. Altman, Jr, and his wife, Heidi and their two children, Brittany and Blake, and also good friend Shawn Conley. Dennis’s passions included golf and cutting hair. Both were practiced for 50 years. Dennis was the owner of The Hair Den where he was loved by all his clients. Dennis will be remembered by his love for Pittsburgh sports, fishing, cars, but most importantly his love for others and his family.

Sabina I. Kessler, age 90 and formerly of Suffolk, VA and Clairton, passed away on Monday, November 16, 2020 in Arden Courts, Jefferson Hills. Born August 28, 1930 in Clairton, she was a daughter of the late Dominic and Christine (Monaca) Mincone. She and her husband of 58 years, the late William E. Kessler, were very active in St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church in Suffolk, VA and also taught Sunday school there. Her family will remember her kind and giving nature. She is survived by her brother Angelo (Marian) Mincone of Elizabeth, nieces, nephews, great-nieces-and-nephews, great-great-nieces-and-nephews, and many godchildren. Anna Charney, age 88 of Clairton, passed away on Sunday, November 15, 2020 in Jefferson Hospital. Born February 23, 1932 in Clairton, she was a daughter of the late Michael and Mary Estock. A former clerk at the US Post Office in Clairton, Anna was member of Triumph of the Holy Cross Parish, St. Clare Church, where she sang in the choir, and a former member of Ascension of Our Lord Byzantine Catholic Church, where she helped with bingo and event scheduling. She was an active member of the Croatian Fraternal union lodges in Clairton and Versailles and both taught and participated in adult Tamburitzan classes in the area. She also was a member of the Clairton Anglers Club and maintained a cabin there. Besides her parents, Anna was preceded in death by her husband John Charney and siblings John, Michael, Mary, and Joseph Estock. She is survived by her children Lee Ann (Richard) Yaga of Glassport and Daniel and John Charney of Clairton; her sisters Margaret Tomasello of Clairton and Helen Hampson of Elizabeth; and also many nieces and nephews.

Richard Thomas, 79, of North Huntingdon, passed away Thursday, November 12, 2020 in Port Charlotte, FL. He was born, September 7, 1941 in Greensburg, a son of the late Edward and Mary (Bogonovich) Thomas. Prior to his retirement, Richard worked for Sun Star, Inc. in Latrobe as a plastics engineer and was a veteran of the US Army having served during the Vietnam Era. He was a graduate of Homestead High School Class of 1959, past president of PAL, coached PAL baseball, and played in the local men's senior softball league and Florida senior softball league. He was a member of the Irwin American Legion, Society of Plastic Engineers, chairman of Cub Pack 252, and enjoyed skiing, golf and boating. He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Patricia Wright Thomas; sons, Rick and his wife, Monica, Scott and his wife, Rose; brother, Paul Thomas and his wife, Karen; two grandchildren, Alexander and Gabriella; and his canine companion, Riley. Friends will be received from 2-8 p.m. on Friday at the James W. Shirley Funeral Home, 176 Clay Pike, North Huntingdon. Wife of the late Nathan Weiss, she is survived by her brother, Jon N. Palley of Meriden, CT, also by nieces and nephews. Mrs. Weiss was a retired mental health advocate for the national, state, and regional Alliance for the Mentally Ill. She was a member of the Temple B’nai Israel, life member of Hadassah, life member of Women International (formerly B’nai Brith), and the Jewish War Veterans Auxiliary. She was a member of West Hempfield Presbyterian Church and enjoyed playing Bridge, quilting and traveling to Florida with her husband for the winters.
