Julia Perkoski, age 101 of Port Vue, passed away at home on Sunday, February 23, 2020. Born April 8, 1918 in Dilltown, she was a daughter of the late Andrew and Ella (Zidoski) Zelinsky. Julia was a member of St. Mark's Parish and the former St. Joseph's Parish of Port Vue, where she was active with the Ladies of Charity. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Edward J. Perkoski, who passed away April 3, 2011; her son Edward R. Perkoski; and her siblings: Pete, George, and Andrew John Zelinsky, Mary Terza, Helen Mickosky, Ann Yanchik and Margaret Krenicky. Julia is survived by her sons Richard (Barbara) Perkoski of Lincoln Borough, Ronald (Darla Sue) Perkoski, with whom she resided, and Kenneth (Lauren) Perkoski of McKeesport; her grandchildren Richard, Michelle, Gary, Michael, Jeffrey, Tiffany, and Matthew; her great-grandchildren Tyler, Cole, Anna, Baylee, Madison, Jeffrey, Jr., Jonah, and Levi; and also nieces and nephews.

Frank J. Maringo, age 97, of North Versailles, passed away Friday, February 21, 2020. He was born January 4, 1923 in Monroeville, a son of the late John and Grace Maringo. He was a member of Mary Mother of God Parish, formerly known as St. Robert Bellarmine Church in East McKeesport.
He was a proud Army veteran that served in World War II and went onto work as a draftsman for over 44 years at Westinghouse Electric in East Pittsburgh before retiring. He was past member of the Fire Department of North Versailles station 214, the 305th Bombardment Group Memorial Association, the American Legion in White Oak, the AARP Versailles Boro Chapter 2911 and the Golden Key Club.

Walter J. “Luddy” Zdrale, age 95 of Finleyville, passed away on Sunday, February 23, 2020. Born August 12, 1924 in Clairton, he was a son of the late Jovan and Vasa (Prelevich) Zdrale. A member of the former St. Mary’s Serbian Orthodox Church in Clairton and US Army Veteran of World War II, Walter worked first as a welder for US Steel Clairton Works. Afterwards, he became a draftsman for US Steel in Pittsburgh and, after his retirement from there, he went to R.T. Patterson of Pittsburgh. He was also a member of the Finleyville American Legion and the Omni Masonic Lodge #582. Besides his parents, Walter was preceded in death by his wife Angelica C. (Collaretti) Zdrale, who passed away August 12, 1998; his daughter Lisa Zdrale; and his brothers George, Mark, and Michael Zdrale. He is survived by his daughter Denise (Jack) Cylenica of West Mifflin, his grandson Sean R. (Georgia) Biagini of Jefferson Hills, his great-grandchildren Giovanni and Siena Biagini, and also nieces and nephews.

George “Judy” Belancik, 91, was born April 15, 1928 in Duquesne. He was the son of the late Stephen and Elizabeth (Sabol) Belancik. Beloved husband of the late Violet (Obradovich). He was affectionately known as Pappy to Lisa Simon, Michael Galagaza, Anthony (Claudia) Galagaza, Melissa (Marty) Clark, Steve (Sharon) Driscoll, Erin (Sean) Welsh, Cory Desmond, Richie (Rachel) Belancik, Jared (Erica) Crevar. GP (Great Grandpap) to Sarah and Luke Galagaza, Violet Clark, Ava and Ryan Driscoll, Stephen, Quinn and Cruz Welsh, Rylee and Troy Belancik, and Miah Crevar. Also survived by sister-in-law Dolly Skorich and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his son Bobby “Blee” Belancik, brother Al Belancik, and sisters Margaret Shimko and Helen Belancik. George "Bunny" William Matthias Jr., 82, of North Huntingdon, passed away Thursday, February 20, 2020. He was born May 13, 1937 in McKeesport, a son of the late George William and Mary (Uhrin) Matthias. Prior to his retirement, George was a pipe fitter for Equitable Gas and a veteran of the US Army. He was a member of the Church of the Immaculate Conception in Irwin, the Irwin Moose for over 52 years, and the Police Rod & Gun Club in New Alexandra. Caroline M. Moranelli, 87, of Glassport died Feb. 19, 2020. She is the daughter of the late Antonio and Mary (Tavalaro) Moranelli and is survived by her nieces Barbara Moranelli, with whom she resided, and Lisa Moranelli; also nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by sisters Catherine Concel and Minnie Ponzo; brothers Frank Moranelli, Nick "Mutt" Moranelli and Ralph "Rossi" Moranelli and nephew James Ponzo, her longtime caretaker. Caroline worked at Immels, GC Murphy Company, Pater's Pharmacy and retired from Rite Aid in Glassport; was a graduate from St. Peters High School and was a member of Queen of the Rosary Parish. Friends received Wojciechowski Funeral Home, Glassport on Sat. from 10:00 am to 11:00 am, at which time a funeral mass will be held at Queen of the Rosary with Father Wojcicki. Stewart, 78, was born April 24, 1941 in McKeesport, Pennsylvania, daughter of the late William and Xnola West; departed this life peacefully on Saturday, February 15, 2020 in Austell, Georgia. She was also preceded in death by her husband, John Stewart, brother, Larry Roy West and grandchild Jayemond Bailey.
Vernell graduated from McKeesport High School. She attended CCAC and later became a certified nursing assistant. She worked at UPMC McKeesport Hospital for 32 years until she retired. She met her husband; the late John Stewart and they were married for over 40 years.
Vernell accepted Christ at an early age. She was a faithful member of Petra International Ministries until she moved to Georgia. Vernell served in several capacities, she was a member of the Adult Choir and Usher Board. She loved to read. Her favorite pass time was doing word puzzles.
