Mary Jane "Dolly" Speney, age 90 of Port Vue, passed away at home on Sunday, September 23, 2018. Born September 2, 1928 in McKeesport, she was a daughter of the late Ernest and Josephine Morningstar. A former secretary at Speney Chevrolet in West Newton and a former co-owner of the Palisades Ballroom in McKeesport, Mary Jane was a member of St. Mark's Parish in Port Vue and actively involved in the former Port Vue American Legionettes.

Faith Ann Pascoe, age 71, of Jefferson Hills, passed away on Thursday, September 20, 2018 at Select Specialty Hospital - McKeesport. A 1964 graduate of Duquesne High School, she retired in 2010 after 25 years as a teller at Huntingdon Bank in Jefferson Hills. She formerly worked for Three Rivers Bank and Sky Bank.

On September 20, 2018, we lost a great family member and friend: P. Jeff "Heffy" Julian, age 61 of Clairton. Jeff was always there to put a smile on your face and lend a helping hand to whoever needed it. Jeff was a member of the Sons of Columbus, the International Union of Operating Engineers Local L0095, and also worked for the University of Pittsburgh for fifteen years and also formerly Clairton High School. Born April 22, 1957, he was a son of the late James F. and Phyllis C. (Criswell) Julian.

August M. Gatto, age 84, of Elizabeth, passed away on Monday, September 17, 2018 at HCR Manor Care in Whitehall. An Army veteran, he retired after 42 years as a pipefitter for U.S. Steel Clairton Works. He was a lifelong member and devout supporter of St. Michael Parish in Elizabeth Twp. where he was active in numerous church functions. He was an avid sports fan and especially enjoyed watching his grandchildren's competitions.

William H. Owens, age 91, of Elizabeth Twp., passed away on Thursday, September 13, 2018 at UPMC McKeesport. He retired as a machinist and fire chief for U.S. Steel, Irvin Works. He was a member of St. Michael Parish in Elizabeth Twp. where he was a two-term church council member, usher, eucharistic minister, and an altar server. A Navy veteran having served in World War II, he was a member of American Legion Post 0712 of Pleasant Hills, the Knights of Columbus, Council 10077, Stephen P. Berry Council and its Color Corps.

Born February 17, 1963 in Pittsburgh, he was a son of the late Carl and Mary Ellen (Vaughan) McNickle. He is survived by his sons, Zachary and Michael McGrath, both of Latrobe; sister, Maureen (Matt) Caruso of Bethel Park; and brother, Ed McGrath of Elizabeth Twp. Donald J. Turek, Sr., age 70, of West Elizabeth, passed away on Sunday, September 2, 2018 at home. He was a retired funeral director with the William H. Craig Funeral Home in McKeesport and worked for various funeral homes in the area. He was a U.S. Army veteran and served during the Vietnam War. He was a former member of the VFW Post #803 in Clairton and a member of St. Isaac Jogues Church in Elrama, the Elrama Sportsman’s Club and the Amateur Trapshooting Association (ATA). He was an avid metal detector and enjoyed various outdoor activities.
