Elizabeth M. Bishover, age 90 of McKeesport, died Thursday, September 8, 2016.  She was born in Morgantown, W.Virginia on May 19, 1926, the daughter of the late Doy and Versie (Saffle) Herron and wife of the late John Bishover.  Elizabeth retired from Kane Regional Center, McKeesport where she worked as a nurse’s aide. She was a member of Hope United Methodist Church in McKeesport.  She is survived by her daughter, Linda (Robert Doria) Dettore of Smock, PA; grandson, R. Scott (Beverly) Dettore of Belle Vernon; great grandchildren, Kayla, Brooke and Zach. She was predeceased by her siblings Ray Herron, Hazel Messenger and Gene Rose.
Friends will be received on Sunday, September 11th from 2-4 and 6-8 at Striffler’s of White Oak Cremation & Mortuary Services, 1100 Lincoln Way, White Oak, PA 15131 (Sue Striffler Galaski, Supervisor) 412-678-6177.  Services will be held Monday at 12 noon in the funeral home chapel with Rev. William T. Pomaibo, age 89, of West Mifflin died September 5, 2016. He was born in Port Vue on March 15, 1927 and is the son of the late Michael and Mary Kyne Pomaibo and husband of the late Margaret (Miskanic) Pomaibo. William retired from Westinghouse Electric where he worked as a layout man. He served in the Army during WWII and was a guard at the Nuremberg trials. He was also a member of the West Mifflin Knights of Columbus.
He is survived by daughter, Cheri (Rich) Antoncic of Port Vue; son, Brian (Kim) Pomaibo of West Mifflin; grandchildren, Rob (Annette) Snyder of Duquesne, Karrie Munz of Duquesne, Haley Pomaibo of West Mifflin, Erin Negrette of N. Huntingdon and Jamie Versetti of West Mifflin also 6 great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by son, William T. Pomaibo, Jr., siblings, Maryann Doughtery, Dolores Smitko, Susan DeFelice, Shirley Karlovsky and Michael Pomaibo. 
The family would like to thank the Anlauf family and staff of The Palms and Gina and Janet of Caring Hospice. Friends will be received at the Hunter-Edmundson-Striffler Co. Anthony A. Brooks, age 87 of N. Huntingdon, died Sunday, September 4, 2016. He was born on Aug. 16, 1929, the son of the late Walter and Julia (Kuttles) Brooks and husband of the late Virginia D’Antonio. Anthony retired from National Tube US Steel where he was a foreman. He was a member of White Oak American Legion, the McKeesport Gun Club, Renzie Seniors, and attended Life Span in Versailles often. He also loved to golf and bowl. He is survived by sons Kirk (Mary) Brooks of Ruffsdale, PA, Eric Brooks of Seattle, WA; sister Pearl (Edward) Stanko of N. Versailles; also 4 grandchildren. Robert L. Gogo, Jr., age 40, of Duquesne, died September 3, 2016. He was born in McKeesport on March 30, 1976 and is the son of Robert L. and Cheryl A. Pearce Gogo of North Versailles. He was a full time police officer for the City of Duquesne since 2005, and a part time police officer in East McKeesport. He was also a member of the Fraternal Order of Police Lodge #91, the PNA Lodge #352 in McKeesport, and the Glassport Club 22. He loved boating and riding his motorcycle. He was a firefighter and EMT with the former Sunset Central Department in North Versailles.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his son; Robert Lee Gogo, III, and his son’s mother, Jamie Dinkfelt with whom he resided, sisters; Jennifer (Rick) Martino of White Oak, Erin (Tony) Carr of North Huntingdon, nieces and nephews; Nicholas, Madison, Anthony, Caroline, and Julian.

Friends and family will be received at Strifflers of White Oak Cremation and Mortuary Services, Inc., 1100 Lincoln Way, White Oak, PA 15131 (Sue Striffler Galaski, Supervisor, 412-678-6177) on Tuesday September 6th from 6-8 pm and Wednesday September 7th from 2-8 pm (Fraternal Order of Police prayer service will be held at 7:00 pm Wednesday). Rev. Stephen M. Chervenak, S.T.L., D.Min., age 82, of White Oak, died Monday, August 22, 2016 at the Vincentian Home in Pittsburgh.  He was born in Homestead on July 30, 1934 and is the son the late Stephen and Mary Yuhas Chervenak.

He attended St. Ann/Fifth Ward Elementary School in Homestead and Homestead High School. He received his Doctor of Ministry from St. Mary Seminary in Baltimore, MD, his Bachelor of Arts from St. Vincent College in Labrobe in 1956 and Licentiate in Sacred Theology from St. Mary’s Seminary University in Baltimore, MD in 1960. He was ordained on March 25, 1960 by Bishop John Wright at St. Paul Cathedral in Pittsburgh and was incardinated into the Diocese of Pittsburgh.

He was assigned as Parochial Vicar at St. Pius X Church in Pittsburgh from 1960 until 1965; St. Agatha Church in Bridgeville, as Parochial Vicar from 1965 until 1969; the Headmaster of St. Thomas High School from 1969 until 1972; He had a dual Administrator position at St. Januarius Church in Plum and at St. Anthony School in Oakmont from 1972 until 1975. He then served as Pastor of St. Angela Merici Church in White Oak from 1975 until 2009. Father Steve took a mini sabbatical at North American College in Europe in 2003 and returned as Administrator of St. Angela Merici Church until October 1, 2013 when he officially retired. 

He served as the Dean of the Mon Yough Deanery from 1991 until 1998 and then again from 2000 until 2009.  He also served as Confessor of the Sisters of the Divine Redeemer from 1986 until 2013 and again from 2014 until 2016.  Since 2014 until the present he served as the Chaplain of the Knights of Columbus.

He is survived by his siblings; Sr. Helen Chervenak of the Motherhouse Sisters of Charity of Nazareth in North Hills, Christine (the late William) Burdick of Stow, Ohio, Margaret (the late Donald) Vojtusak of Stow, Ohio and Dr. John (Judy) Chervenak of Paradise Valley, Arizona and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his sisters and brothers in law; Mary and Albert Miller and Ann and William.

Friends will be received at Strifflers of White Oak Cremation and Mortuary Services, 1100 Lincoln Way, White Oak, 15131 on Wednesday from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. and again on Thursday from Noon until 4:00 p.m.  Friends will also be received Thursday evening at St. Angela Merici Church from 6:00 p.m until Vesper Services which will be celebrated at 7:00 p.m.  Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday at 10:00 a.m. at St. Angela Merici Church with burial following at Calvary Cemetery, Pgh.  Remembrances may be made to St. Angela Merici Church, 1640 Fawcett Avenue, White Oak, 15131 or Vincentian Home, 111 Perrymont Road, Pgh., PA  15237.
