It is with heavy hearts that we announce the death of James L. Hartnett of Liberty Borough, who peacefully passed away on July 14, 2025, at the age of 87 at his daughter's home. James, affectionately known as Butch, was born on December 18, 1937, and grew up in Port Vue, Pennsylvania. He was the son of the late James P. and Irene (Horvath) Hartnett and the husband of Michaeline (Benish) Hartnett. He lived a wonderful life as a devoted son, husband, father, grandfather, uncle and friend.

Mary R. Barron, age 93 of Deland, FL and formerly of White Oak and Edgewater, FL, passed away on Saturday, July 12, 2025 in Woodland Towers Assisted Living in Deland. Born May 10, 1932 in Versailles, she was a daughter of the late Nicholas and Danica "Daisy" (Jerant) Gornick. A US Air Force Veteran of the Korean War and member of the former St. Angela's Church in White Oak, Mary was also preceded in death by her husband, the late Joseph Edward Barron, who passed away May 23, 1989, her son Joseph Eugene Barron, who passed away October 27, 2024, and her siblings Rose M. Hurbanek, Stephen "Phil" Gornick, Katie Susan, and Anna Odorcic. She is survived by her son David A. Barron of Deland, FL; her grandchildren Joseph (Stephanie) Barron, Jr., Heather (Elle) Barron, Kyle (Jennifer) Barron, and Paige (Jacob) Nealis; her great-grandchildren Anthony, Andrew, Briar, Reid, and Mac; her brother Bill (Loretta) Gornick of Manassas, VA; daughter-in-law Eileen Barron; and also nieces and nephews.

Gregory Neel, age 65, of McKeesport, died on July 9, 2025 at his home. Born October 20, 1959, in McKeesport, he was the son of the late Robert and Jennie (Jaimee) Neel.
Gregory was a skilled automotive mechanic at Renzie Auto. Loved for his easy-going spirit and undeniable skill under the hood, Greg was a guy who could fix just about anything - and probably did!
Gregory is survived by his brothers, James L. (Shelby) Neel and Thomas Neel; and his niece, Jessica Dawes.
In addition to his parents, he is also preceded in death by his sister, Terri Dawes.

Adrienne Schonhardt, age 86, of Liberty Boro, died July 13, 2025, at Jefferson Hospital. Born August 9, 1938, in McKeesport, she was the daughter of the late John and Virginia (Backstrom) Hocko and the wife of the late James Schonhardt.
A dedicated homemaker, Adrienne was renowned for her amazing cooking skills, filling her home with delicious aromas that brought comfort and joy to her family. She had a gift for sewing, spending countless hours as a seamstress making clothing for her children, including memorable maxi skirts and skorts. Her passion for creativity extended to crocheting, as she lovingly created beautiful afghans that warmed both body and spirit for her entire family.
Adrienne was not only a nurturing mother, but also a vibrant spirit who loved life. Her feisty personality, fearlessness in speaking her mind, and sense of humor made every family gathering memorable, often over board games and lively conversations. She enjoyed gambling and her outings to the casino, never turning down a chance to play. She also enjoyed playing video games. Adrienne spent countless evenings captivated by paranormal TV shows. She enjoyed sharing her interests with loved ones.

Bernard Charles "Bernie" Linkhauer, 82, of McKeesport passed away Sunday, July 13, 2025. He was born in McKeesport on January 19, 1943 to the late Charles Theodore and Ruby Clair (Wardropper) Linkhauer. Bernie worked for many companies as a CDL Truck Driver, and had the personality of a truck driver through and through. He was retired Teamsters Local #30, as well as a member of the National Railroad Historical Society - Horseshoe Curve Chapter, since the 80's. He also thoroughly enjoyed hunting, and train excursions. He is survived by his loving wife of over 60 years, Carol Lee (McLean) Linkhauer; his 2 sons, Bernie Lee (Lisa Coulson) Linkhauer of Elizabeth Township, and Curt (Christy) Linkhauer of Yorkhaven, PA; grandchildren, Brittney (Corey) Wahl, Kyle (Courtney Stickler) Linkhauer, and Carrie Linkhauer; great-grandchildren, Hudson & Weston Linkhauer; as well as a sister, Eileen Linkhauer; and nieces and nephews.
