Guy V. DeLia, 81, of North Versailles, died Wednesday, December 25, 2024. He was born August 26, 1943, in Braddock, a son of the late James and Carrie (Mazzella) DeLia. Guy was a skilled gatherer at Kopp Glass, Inc., Swissvale for 50 years and rarely missed a day of work. He was a member of United Steelworkers Union Local 52T, was a mechanical genius, liked to fix anything and enjoyed working on cars. He also had a brick pointing business on the side. He was a member of Mary Mother of God Parish, St. Robert Bellarmine Church. He loved doing things for and spending time with his family. He is survived by his beloved wife Virginia M. (Molnar) DeLia; his children Jason (Victoria) DeLia, Kristin (Michael) Mrdjenovich, and Janeen (Don) Connors; his grandchildren Mikey, Joshua, Madison, Joseph, and Mia; siblings Anthony (Joanne) DeLia and Adele Perry; his brother in law Ronald (Susan) Molnar; and nephews Matthew Perry, James (Leandra) Perry, Anthony DeLia and Samuel Molnar.

Robert S. LaViolette, age 81, of North Versailles, passed away Friday, December 20, 2024. He was born in Sturgeon Bay, Wisconsin, a son of the late Sydney and Gretna LaViolette. He was an Army veteran that went onto work for over 30 years as a dental labs supervisor. He always enjoyed watching the Greenbay Packers and Pittsburgh Steelers play football. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife Sandra (Barr) LaViolette; and brothers Rodger and Dave. He is survived by his daughter Danielle (Fiancé Johnny McConnell) LaViolette of Waynesboro; grandchildren Duane Pomaibo and Brent (Angel) Pomaibo; great grandchildren Carter and Finn; brothers Billy, Donnie and Dale; Sisters Sandy, Linda, Karen, Gale and Debbie; many nieces and nephews; and his puppies Zoe and Hemi.

Mary Jane (Shusteric) Bayko, 90, of North Huntingdon, died Monday December 23, 2024. She was born July 26, 1934 in Adderly a daughter of the late John and Florence (Sargo) Shusteric and was also preceded in death by her husband Rudy Bayko, a daughter Janet “Natalka” Bayko and siblings Sonny Shusteric and Lorraine Sigmund. Mary Jane retired as a nurse’s assistant and secretary at Mercy Hospital after 50 years’ service. She enjoyed playing bingo at the East Pittsburgh Moose, liked to travel especially visiting family in Lewes, DE, and in her younger days liked going to Keystone Lake. Most of all she enjoyed time spent with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Nancy J. Burczyk, age 75 of North Huntingdon, passed away on December 27, 2024. She was born on July 3, 1949 in Jeannette, a daughter of the late Robert Datz and Vivian Gahagan Datz. Nancy was a Norwin graduate in the Class of 1968. Prior to her retirement, she was employed as a maid at the Sheraton Hotel in Greensburg. In her free time, Nancy enjoyed playing bingo and watching crime dramas. In addition to her parents, Nancy was preceded in death by one nephew, Geoffrey Cornes. She is survived by one daughter, Nicole Scheafnocker (Kevin), one sister Sandra Cornes Slotnick (Ronald), two grandchildren Alex and Sofia, and one nephew Scott Cornes. Born in Pittsburgh on July 3, 1993, she was the daughter of John Mozes of McDonald and Tina (Jeff Gavel) Pancoast of West Mifflin and also stepmother, Dawna Mozes of Canonsburg. She was Catholic by faith. Marlene C. Tiskiewicz, age 88 of Port Vue died December 26, 2024 at home. Born April 22, 1936 in McKeesport, she was the daughter of the late Margaret (Smith) and the late Roy Wiggins, Sr. and the wife of 58 loving years to the late Richard J. Tiskiewicz.
Marlene worked for over 10 years as a bookkeeper at the former G.C. Murphy Co., where she inadvertently developed a lifelong love of shopping. She also loved decorating for every holiday, inside and outside of her home in Port Vue, along with meticulously caring for her yard. Marlene's greatest joy was spending time with and watching her grandchildren and great-grandchildren grow up.

Marguerite J. Roberts, age 88 of North Huntingdon formerly of Turtle Creek, passed away on December 28, 2024 at William Penn Care Center. She was born on May 15, 1936 in East Pittsburgh, a daughter of the late Thomas and Marguerite Campbell Driscoll. Prior to her retirement, Marguerite was employed as a secretary for Monsour Hospital. Marguerite was an avid bowler in the Greater Pittsburgh Bowling Alley Donut League, a member of AARP Group 3221, a member of the Friendship Club, and also a member of the Turtle Creek Reunion Committee. Marguerite was preceded in death by her husband, John Roberts in the year 2000, one daughter Kimberly Hess, and one brother, Thomas Driscoll. Karin E. Skiba, 76, of Port Vue, Passed away Wednesday, December 25, 2024 at home surrounded by her loving family. She was born July 14, 1948 in McKeesport and was the daughter of the late E. Kenneth and Jane (Miller) Palmquist. She was the wife of the late Stanley P. Skiba, who passed away August 14, 2011. Karin worked as a nurse at UPMC McKeesport and retired after 40 years of service. She attended First Free Evangelical Church in McKeesport, where she was once part of the Women’s Ministries, Legacy Group and Senior Group there. She was also a member of the Port Vue Seniors. Karin also enjoyed crafting and sewing. She had a special and close relationship with her neighbors, who became like family. She will be greatly missed.

Roseann Marie (Dumic) Hyland, born on October 14, 1933, in McKeesport, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully on December 19, 2024, at Bryn Mawr Hospital in Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania, following a short illness.
A graduate of McKeesport High School, Roseann furthered her education by earning an Associate's degree from business school. In June 1961, she married the love of her life, Thomas Hyland Jr., and together they built a life filled with love and devotion in White Oak, Pennsylvania. Roseann remained in White Oak for over 60 years until 2022 when she moved to an assisted living facility in Springfield, Pennsylvania, to be closer to her son Tom and his family. Despite living in Philadelphia Eagles territory, she remained a steadfast Pittsburgh Steelers fan.
Roseann dedicated much of her career to serving Allegheny County as an administrative assistant. She was also deeply committed to her Catholic faith and was an active member of the Christian Mothers organization. When her husband was alive, the couple enjoyed participating in a bowling league together.
She was the beloved daughter of the late Frank and Mandy (Jurevich) Dumic and was predeceased by her sister Marie, brother Joseph, and husband Thomas Hyland Jr. who passed away on July 10, 1996. Roseann was the cherished mother of the late Lynn Kaspy, Thomas (Julie) Hyland III of Havertown, PA, and David (Nancy) Hyland of Moon Township, PA. She was a proud grandmother to Hanna, Blayze, and Lennon Hyland, and the late Gavin Hyland. Roseann is also survived by her sister-in-law Mira Dumic; and her five nieces and nephews Rita Logue, Judy Nassida, and Joseph, Steven and Anne Marie Dumic.

William “Bill” Alfred Filer, 72, of Hollywood, FL., formerly of Elizabeth Township, passed away Saturday, December 21, 2024. He was born August 5, 1952 in Waynesburg and was the son of the late Alfred William and Marilyn Joyce (Rose) Filer. Bill was a member of Bethesda United Presbyterian Church, Elizabeth and was retired from the US Postal Service in Florida. He was a 1970 graduate of Elizabeth Forward High School. Bill enjoyed games of chance, watching old TV shows and tinkering around with things. He was great with his hands and was a hard worker. He was also a devoted lifelong fan of Terry Bradshaw and the Pittsburgh Steelers. He is survived by his sisters, Robin Lynch of Pickerington, OH., and Shelly F. Ostroff of Jefferson Hills, brother, Kevin (Tammy) Filer of Smithton, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brother, Darin Filer.
