Schultz, age 81 of McKeesport, passed away on Friday, February 7, 2020 in Canterbury Place, Pittsburgh.  Born June 4, 1938 in McKeesport, she was a daughter of the late Jeno and Mary (Hollis) Schmidt.  A former sales clerk at KMart in Pompano Beach, FL, besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her husband James Schultz and siblings Margaret Javorsky, and Victor, Jim, Alfred, and Wayne Schmidt.  Teresa is survived by her sister Helen Gray of McKeesport, and also nieces and nephews.

Shaw, 88, of North Huntingdon, passed away Saturday, February 8, 2020.  She was born March 22, 1931 in Pittsburgh, a daughter of the late Hugh and Evelyn (McManus) Mitchell.  Marcia was a member of Community United Methodist Church, enjoyed Bible study and her pet Bichon Frise, Caesar, and loved being a mom and grandma.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Melvin Shaw.  She is survived by her daughters, Beverly Hall and her husband Jeff, Marlene Grasha and her husband, Steve, Sherrill Terzak; brother, Russell Mitchell and his wife, Sallie; grandchildren, Lisa (Mike) Haendler, Melissa (Zack) King, Tina (Benjamin) Bricker, Katelan (Jared) Terzak, Grant Grasha, Glenn Grasha, Jacob Terzak; and great-grandchildren, Bennie, Leah, Madelyn, Aiden and Iva.  Friends will be received from 2-8 p.m. on Tuesday at the James W. Shirley Funeral Home, 176 Clay Pike, North Huntingdon. Dennis G. "Denny" Nagy, age 77 of Clairton, passed away at home on February 7, 2020.  Denny was a member of the American Legion Post # 75 of Clairton where served as Adjutant for 20 years, a past member and president of the Clairton School Board, and served in the National Guard.  Born December 4, 1942 in Clairton, he was a son of the late George and Olga (Marko) Nagy.  Denny was an electrical team leader for US Steel Clairton works and retired after 40 years.  He is survived by his wife Sheila (Delestienne) Leck Nagy; his step-children Allison (Dusan) Markovic of Clinton, TN, Denise (Troy) Coughenour of Elizabeth Twp., and James (Jennifer) Leck, Jr. of Glassport; his step-grandchildren Rachel (Andrew) Burch, Alex Kuhn, Bryer and Jordan Coughenour, and Brendan Leck; his brother David Nagy of Hollywood, FL; his sister, Alice (Jim) Takacs of Hays; and also by one step great grandchild.

Claragail Winkelvoss Hammett, 88, of North Huntingdon, passed away Saturday, February 8, 2020.  She was born March 4, 1931 in New Castle, a daughter of the late Ralph and Sarah R. (Baird) Baker.  Claragail was a member of Norwin Alliance Church, Eastern Star and card club, and enjoyed knitting and crocheting.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, James Donald Winkelvoss, second husband, Edward Hammett; granddaughter, Victoria Browne; and sister, Phoebe Nylander.  She is survived by her two sons, Gary and his wife Polly of Cranberry Township, Ralph and his wife Karen of Uniontown; daughter, Lynn Browne and her husband Mike of Greensburg; grandchildren, Erin Maurer (Scott), Matthew, Heather and Joshua Winkelvoss, and Michael Browne; great-grandchildren, Rosaline, Violet and Autumn Maurer, Riley Hall, Kyiah Levtzow; and sister, Rowena Shick. Friends will be received at the James W. Shirley Funeral Home, Clay Pike, North Huntingdon on Friday from 2 - 7 p.m.  A funeral service will be held on Saturday at 12 noon in the funeral home chapel.  Interment  to follow in Jefferson Memorial Park. Boyce, age 83 of Versailles, passed away at home on Thursday, February 6, 2020.  Born August 21, 1936 in Maud, OH, he was a son of the late Roy Lee and Mary Louise (Layfield) Boyce.  A self-employed general contractor, Richard was an avid golfer and member of the "Bull Chippers" at Butler's Golf Course.  He is survived by his loving wife of 26 years Terrie (Fuller) Boyce; his sons Steve (Karen) Boyce and Adam (Karen) DiMeo; his daughters Karen (Robert) Manis, Diane Rudolph, Kim Sweeney, and Kelly Sutton; his sixteen grandchildren; his eight great-grandchildren; his brother William Boyce; and also nieces and nephews.

Susan L. (Norris) Filer, 68, of Pittsburgh, formerly of North Huntingdon, died Wednesday February 5, 2020. She was born May 15, 1951 in Pittsburgh, a daughter of the late Lee and Jean (Calmus) Norris and was also preceded in death by a sister Pamela Mitall.

Susan was a caregiver in the healthcare field, but she devoted her life to raising her three children and, in recent years, “Grammy” delighted in helping to lovingly care for her five beautiful grandchildren. When not spending time with her family, she treasured time with numerous close friends, including card club, shared meals, and fun travels.

Whether family, friend, or stranger, Susan had a smile, warm hug, and kind word for every person who crossed her path. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Irwin.

Bekavac Funeral Home, Clairton, on Sunday, February 9, 2020 from 2 to 4 PM and 6 to 8 PM.  A Funeral Service will be held in the funeral home on Monday, February 10, 2020 at 10 AM with Pastor Jeffrey Dillinger officiating.  Procession and burial will follow to St. Clare Cemetery, Clairton.

Barbara Volas, age 84, of White Oak, passed away on February 3, 2020 surrounded by family and friends after a brief illness.  She was born on March 3, 1935 in Kremasti, Rhodes, Greece and is the daughter of the late Peter J. and Katerina Cantemiry Volas.  

Barbara graduated from McKeesport High School in 1952.  She attended Pratt Institute in New York.  She later earned a Bachelor of Arts in Painting from Carnegie Institute of Technology in 1963 and a Master of Fine Arts in Painting from Carnegie Institute of Technology in 1967.  Barbara lived the artist’s life.  She held adjunct professor appointments at Western College for Women, now Miami University, in Oxford, Ohio and Carnegie Mellon University.  She exhibited her work at individual, group and invitational shows throughout Pittsburgh and Western Pennsylvania.  Several of her paintings and prints are part of individual and corporate collections.  Barbara earned awards and commissions from the National Endowment for the Arts and Pennsylvania Council for the Arts.  Barbara will be fondly remembered by her nieces and nephews when they would visit her home, garden and studios.

(Beth) Shawl of Everett; grandchildren, Jason, Justin, Jarrod, James, Julie, George, Jordan and Dakota; 13 great-grandchildren; sister, Jamee (Albert) Powell of Finleyville; also, nieces, nephews and sisters-in-law. LaNora Louise (Rouse) Price passed away peacefully on February 1, 2020, at her home in North Versailles after a long illness. Born July 19, 1933, in Pittsburgh to John and Margaret Rouse, LaNora grew up on the Northside, graduating from Allegheny High School in 1951. In September of that year, she married Donald Price, a marriage that lasted until his death in 2008.

LaNora worked as an operator for Bell Telephone and as a meat cutter for Kroger’s in Duquesne but retired in 1972 to be a stay-at-home mother to her daughter Dawn.

After Donald’s retirement, he and LaNora traveled extensively, visiting England, Scotland, Wales, and Italy, and finally taking their dream vacation to Egypt.
