John A. Kaczka, 86, of Glassport died Oct. 20, 2020.  He is the son of the late Anthony and Antoinette (Kumiega) Kaczka.  He is survived by his beloved wife of 60 years Elizabeth "Betty" (Braun) Kaczka; children Connie (Sean) Slattery, Anthony Kaczka, Christine Scaglione and Mary (Dan) Romanelli; grandchildren Gabrielle Masten, Dylan Slattery, Joe Slattery, Harry Slattery, Anthony Kaczka, Zachery Kaczka, Cherese Wright, Candace Kammerdiener, Isaac Yuhas, Gus Yuhas and Jaiden Romanelli;great grandchildren Alina Masten, Keanu Hitaffer, Emma Grahm, Noni Kaczka and Zander Kaczka; sisters Stephanie Edmundson and Mildred Prejean;also many nieces and nephews.  He was preceded  in death by his son Francis Kaczka and several brothers and sisters.  John was a retired barber in Glassport for over 53 years, a member of Queen of the Rosary Parish, American Legion and the PNA and also served in the US Marine Corp.  The family would like to thank Amedsys Hospice, especially Pastor Larry, and the VA for their care and kindness given to John.  A private visitation and burial will be held.  Funeral arrangements by Wojciechowski Funeral Home, Glassport.

Ann Zurich DiRado, 97, of North Huntingdon, passed away October 20, 2020 at Forbes Regional Hospital. She was born March 3, 1923 in Wilmerding, a daughter of the late John and Jessie Zurich. Prior to her retirement, Ann was a factory assembler for Westinghouse Electric with over 40 years of service. She was a member of St. Nicholas Serbian Orthodox Church, Monroeville. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Emil DiRado; brothers, Stephen, Ed and Michael Zurich; and sister, Mildred Feals. She is survived by her sister, Mary Zurich; several nieces, nephews and cousins. Friends will be received from 12:30 - 1:00 p.m. on Friday at the James W. Shirley Funeral Home, 176 Clay Pike, North Huntingdon, PA. A funeral service to follow in the funeral home chapel. Interment in Penn Lincoln Memorial Park. Ronald Lionel Peters, 91, of North Huntingdon Pennsylvania, passed peacefully at home surrounded by his loved ones on October 20, 2020.

Ron was born in Monessan, PA., to Ruth Faye and Leonard Field Peters on April 12, 1929. He graduated from the University of Pittsburgh School of Pharmacy and managed many pharmacies over the years. Ron also served in Panama as a pharmacist.

He was a lifelong member of Christ United Methodist Church in McKeesport, PA. Ron was a jack of all trades. He was an avid writer, a talented landscaper, and a dedicated Pittsburgh Pirates fan. Most importantly, he was the foundation of strength and love for his family.

Ronald is preceded in death by his younger brothers Walter and Leonard Peters. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Lois Beswick Peters; 4 children Wendy (Keith) Staso, Lisa (Robert) Scheideman, Jeffrey (Patricia) Peters, and Holly (Joseph) Coghill; 10 grandchildren Tara and Leah Kristopaitis, Jonathan and Amanda Staso, Rebecca, Ethan and Evan Peters, Kendra Scheideman, and Courtney and McKenzie Coghill; and 3 great-grandchildren Roman, Monroe, and Nadea.

He was retired from Homeland Security as an Investigator. He loved gardening, trips to the Meadows, was an avid dog lover and enjoyed his fishpond. He is survived by his wife, Patricia (Whited) Hunt; children, Renee (Ken) Konias of Dravosburg, Dawn (Mike) Woods of Elizabeth, Twp., Denise Luczak of West Mifflin, Dennis (Kathy) Luczak of West Mifflin, George (Christy) Hunt of Baldwin, Anthony (Rachel) Hunt of Plum, Tracy (Gary) Hunt-Beayrd of Glassport, and Robert (Katy) Hunt of Swissvale; 11 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; sister, Judy (Eugene) Robbins of Dravosburg.  Visitation will be held on Monday, October 26, 2020 from 9:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. at the MALOY-SCHLEIFER FUNERAL HOME, INC., 915 KENNEDY AVE., DUQUESNE,  15110, 412-466-3300, where a Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. with the Rev. Michele (Margie) Steinhauser

Michele (Margie) Steinhauser, 53 of Endwell, NY, passed away Sunday October 18, 2020 at Mercy House after a courageous battle with breast cancer. She was predeceased by her parents, Edward and Sylvia Margie. She is survived by her loving husband of 29 years, Kurt Steinhauser; two daughters, Sylvia and Sara Steinhauser; two canine companions, Jack and Samantha; also many cousins, nieces and nephews, and dear friends. She was a graduate of West Mifflin Pennsylvania Area High School; a graduate of Pennsylvania State University where she earned her BS in Nursing and later completed her master’s degree at the University of Maryland. She was a former Nurse Educator at The Johns Hopkins University Hospital and the University of South Carolina, Aiken. She was currently a Nursing Professor at the Decker School of Nursing at SUNY Binghamton University and taught clinical at UHS Wilson Hospital. She was an active member of the Church of the Holy Family in Endwell, where she enjoyed volunteering for various events and teaching religious education. Michele was a born leader, was committed to the Nursing profession and truly enjoyed providing training and direction to new nurses, whether it was in clinical procedure or just friendly personal advice.  Her students always said she was tough and never allowed for mediocrity, but it was to make them the best nurses they could possibly be.  She was an active member of the Pi Lambda Chapter of Sigma Theta Tau, Honor Society of Nursing. Regardless of what she was involved in, she always utilized her organizational skills and liked to be in charge to ensure things went smoothly. She served as President of the Greater Binghamton Chapter of the Penn State Alumni Association for 5 years, enjoyed being involved in many committees related to fund-raising and was recently the president of the Maine-Endwell Cheerleading Boosters. She was a dedicated wife, dance-Mom, cheer-Mom, Penn State fan, role-model and dear friend to everyone she encountered.  More importantly, she absolutely lived for her family and her daughters and nothing in this world was more important to her.  She will be forever in our hearts.

Gladys Szymela, age 93, of McKeesport, died October 19, 2020, at Mount Vernon of Elizabeth.  She was born February 10, 1927 in Brdov, Poland to Piotra and Eleonor Czyzewska.
